Why are people saying the Queen isn't in the coffin?

I keep hearing people suggesting the Queen isn't in the coffin as apparently the same happened with the Queen's grandfather.

Sounds like a load of rubbish to me. It would be insane if she wasn't.

Take it from someone who works in a funeral parlour - embalming certainly doesn't stop the smell. It helps to slow down decomposition but doesn't prevent it.

A lead lined coffin stops moisture from entering the coffin (and hence stops moisture from escaping, if you get my meaning). It also helps slow down the decaying process. It will make the coffin much heavier, which is why they have 8 strong pallbearers rather than the usual six.

Queen Elizabeth may or may not have been embalmed. It's quite invasive so they may have chosen not to do so.

Someone needs to have a look in the vault where Philip is waiting. If there's spare room, she's in the box now ready to go in beside him after the funeral service, if there is a coffin beside him she's already there.

So who's volunteering to down the vault and report back?

The only way we would ever know for sure is if they dropped the coffin and the lid popped off.
I actually can’t bear to watch them manouvering it, I felt quite sick when they took Philip up those steps into Windsor and I’ve walked out of the room every time with the Queen after watching them coming down that aircraft ramp, they really looked like they were struggling.
