Why are people saying the Queen isn't in the coffin?

I keep hearing people suggesting the Queen isn't in the coffin as apparently the same happened with the Queen's grandfather.

Sounds like a load of rubbish to me. It would be insane if she wasn't.

I was relieved when she died of natural causes, and she was able to complete her life without assassination. I can't imagine over the years what the logistics have been like trying to keep her safe. Now she has died, it is strangely safer now than ever before.

I think you are reacting against the feeling of having a body being paraded up and down the country - and not without reason - feeling a sense of disbelief at this operation. How can she be taken so far for so long and be actually be in there, a body? I do understand and it is quite macabre.

I felt the same last night. It is quite surreal.

I'd imagine if some terrorist organisation wanted to intercept the coffin and hold it for ransom, all of this made it a hell of a lot easier for them to do so!

Did you actually look at the amount of vehicles travelling with the coffin from balmoral? It wasn’t just the escort around the Hearse and princess Anne’s limo , there was a second group of vehicles travelling behind by about 2 mins including multiple police vans with police in the front with face masks covering (so I suspect shooters), a spare hearse , an ambulance etc…
we are talking about 20 vehicles and potential 100 police/army personnel.

people were tasking about sending coffin by road or rail form Edinburgh to london- with that sort of level of armed personnel and support I’m glad they didn’t- it would have cost us even more.

The people who are saying this are obviously completely naive to the force of will that is the Princess Royal. There is absolutely no way she'd accompany an empty coffin for appearances sake, she held vigil in every imaginable way with her beloved mother accompanying her wherever possible.

I've no doubt there are some aspects to the Queen's demise and internment that will always be kept from us plebs, but there isn't a tiny speck of me that imagines they're carting an empty vessel around.

You could argue the whole point of all this rigmarole, ritual and ceremony is nothing to do with the queen's actual remains but all to do with whipping up all this royalist frenzy. So it makes no odds if she is the coffin or not.

Of all the things I have never imagined, a terrorist organisation stealing the Queen's body to hold it to ransom is the thing I have never imagined the most.

I suppose when she was alive she could have helped fight them off.

Genuine question. Where do you think she is? Why do you think she would not be in there? What would be gained by that? If you ask these questions, it seems an unlikely course of action.
