Charles has just created William Prince of Wales from today. So one question answered. Good decision.

If the they remove theirs then they’d have to remove Andrew’s. If they do that then the public at large realise it can be done, and isn’t that difficult. So the next time one of them steps out of line the title goes. Can you imagine how strong the calls for that to happen around the time of Diana’s death would have been, if it was publicly viewed as possible?

Imo it was just clarifying that things are still the same. William and Catherine are still taking on tbt roles expected of them, just with new titles, and Harry and Meghan are still making their new life away from royal roles.

Cuts the speculation about “maybe he’ll come back” and also takes away any “ooh he totally ignored them”.

The immediate line is now his family. Camilla, William, Catherine, their children, Harry and Meghan, and their roles going forward are very clear.

I thought the speech was very lovely. But I laughed at all the ‘now I’m king I won’t be able to do all the things I did before’ bit plus the ‘William - now you’ve got a shit ton of stuff to look after’ bit. And the shoutout to H and M so they have nothing to whinge about !
And he was very lovely in tribute to his mum and in his stepping up to his new duties. Oh yes, and his reference to his darling wife ☺️

The historical records make it clear that both Owen and Henry Tudor consider themselves welshmen. One of my favourite places to visit in Wales is Rhaglan Castle which was Henry VII boyhood home.
