What is the maximum?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/02/2022 20:39

I thought the maximum was 1000?
It is on most threads anyway ...

Andrew was exposed as having off-piste meetings at the taxpayers expense under cover of the trade envoy role some while ago. I've posted this link before but it's always worth a re-visit:

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7742249/EXPOSED-Prince-Andrews-deals-tax-haven-tycoons.html

Finding that has revealed a couple more wormholes links to further scandals the Duke of Porkies has to his name all woefully under-reported and/or glossed over:

That's even before we get on to the appalling behaviour around Mummy's palaces and the private jet airmiles extracted from the taxpayer over decades.

As for tapping Epstein for loans I suspect that might have been Fergie's own work. Let's not forget there were more numbers listed for her in the infamous little black book than even for Andrew.

OverByYer · 20/02/2022 21:50

That 3rd article is very revealing. He went to bloody Thailand with Epstein FFS, I dread to think what happened there.

Roussette · 20/02/2022 21:56

Yes, I remember when he went on a yacht holiday with JE and a load of models.

Looking back now, it's unbelievable this all went on. The last article is galling

I know, just how much he has got away with for so long. I’ve just started reading’ So What do You Do?’
Like many I’ve just accepted the RF as part and parcel of being British but this debate on here and PA in particular has really changed my view.

It is an absolute eye opener, it really is.

'What Do You Do?' is a fantastic if jaw dropping read. Funnily enough monarchists never seem to want to spend the time however often it's recommended.

On a related note I see there are reports today that one of the queen's charities spent 98% of what it raised on staff costs.

What do they do indeed.

OneSwallow · 21/02/2022 10:56

From being fairly indifferent , I now feel they are a complete waste of space.

Monopolyiscrap · 21/02/2022 13:30

The Court Circular lists all the Royal Family engagements.

www.royal.uk/court-circular

Prince Andrew's were usually visiting a golf club or a dinner somewhere.
A lot of the engagements are of no real benefit to the country.

OverByYer · 21/02/2022 22:24

Fleet Street Fox sums it up nicely

Great article - thanks for sharing!

Bananawings · 22/02/2022 03:05

"Perhaps his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, might also wonder whythe man who paid her £15,000 a year divorce settlementafter 10 years of marriage and two children has given800 times thatto a woman he says he never met, and who alleged he had sex with her on 3 occasions."

^^ This strikes me as an interesting sentence from that article. If that is true, isn't it shocking that SF got so little money in her divorce settlement?

I imagine their girls would have been supported by the RF with school fees etc? Would paying SF so little have been solely Andrew's decision or would The Firm have had a say in that? Ironic if it was Sarah's lack of money that first led Andrew to Epstein, as some allege. If that was the case then I bet a few people are wishing they had been a little more generous from the outset.

OverByYer · 22/02/2022 06:36

Yes, very odd that she got so little. No wonder she went around flogging their ‘connections’

OneSwallow · 22/02/2022 07:10

SF probably had many of her main living expenses taken care of. School fees, clothes for her daughters etc. I can’t remember where she was living but think she’s always been supported by Andrew with that too. She could have got a job instead of writing Budgie books. She’s greedy and a spendthrift.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/02/2022 12:00

Very odd that (Sarah) got so little

Considering the way it finally fell to bits, with the toe-sucking all over the papers, she probably wasn't in much of a position to demand more for herself as opposed to the girls
I've always believed the RF will have a lot more background on those who marry in than we know, and given their ruthlessness I'd expect them to use it when it suits

SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 22/02/2022 12:39

Trouble is, when the RF turn the screws on those who marry in, it has to be careful it doesn't set off a chain reaction when they leave people like Sarah F without money. She knows a few secrets, I think.

OverByYer · 22/02/2022 13:38

She could probably bring them all down.

BlanketsBanned · 22/02/2022 14:32

I thought sf got about £3m lump sum mostly from the queen which included a trust fund for the girls plus 15k a year from pa. She earns her own money, lives rent free in a fuck off house, gets invited to some royal caserta events, retains her title, so doubt she has any interest in bringing anyone down. She has a pretty good life.

Yes, quite! You'd think they would have learned this lesson by now, as they have had enough practice!

Yes she probably wasn't in the best place to negotiate. Apparently PA was away at sea for huge tracts of their early marriage and most of one pregnancy (I forget which). I suppose she knew that when she married him though and no different to other naval wives ...

...having said that, and of course we don't know the ins and outs, but there always seems to be an old fashioned view among the RF and the aristocracy that adultery ok for both men and women. But it's ok for men if it gets out in public, but definitely not for women.

Absolutely - and multiply that by 100 when it's an actual "blood royal" who's scaring the horses

As with Andrew they don't get cast out with nothing, but then doing that may be just too big a risk

Mamamia7962 · 22/02/2022 19:47

BlanketsBanned - Yes that sum included £1.4 million for Beatrice and Eugenie's trust fund, plus the Queen gave her £500,000 for a new house. Prince Andrew agreed to pay the school fees plus a monthly allowance to B and E.

Sarah Ferguson also earned £2.2 million from her autobiography so I think she did pretty well from the divorce.

CathyorClaire · 22/02/2022 20:39

Even taking twenty five years worth of inflation into account she got fairly paltry sums by royal standards had she been cast into the wilderness but she wasn't.

She's gallivanted, cavorted and been bailed out of hideous debt while having the run of splendiferous palaces ever since d-day.

She is freeloading personified.

Oh well that makes more sense!
