Prince Harry revealed in his Oprah interview that the Sussexes stopped receiving money from the royal family in the first quarter of 2020. However, newly published accounts reveal that Prince Charles continued to financially support the Sussexes until summer 2020.

I wonder if this is going to be a case of their truth or incorrect wording on Harry’s behalf. Interesting!

So obviously to you.

Not to everyone

Smile

Social media on the day of the wedding thought otherwise, though. There was absolutely heaps of speculation, from all sides, caused solely by her clothing choice.

Roussette · 02/07/2021 21:27

Lol. I'm on social media. Never thought my voice was that important!

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 02/07/2021 21:41

Rousette, if you're back from drinks, some of us with jowls would like to know if this cupping the jawline thing works or not. Smile

Roussette · 02/07/2021 21:45

Haha... I'm listening! I can only cope with the NDNs for 2 hours, done and dusted!
I cupped, I poured drinks, I passed nibbles... no comment!

BUT I've recently lost over a stone so that got noticed. #happy!

p.s. still have jowls 😂

SueSaid · 02/07/2021 21:47

'p.s. still have jowls '

Well done on your weight loss Flowers though I am deflated to think I will have to actually do something to get rid of the lockdown weight. I was hoping that jaw cupping would be The Answer Hmm

Roussette · 02/07/2021 22:02

I was hoping too! Thank you Smile
(have more than a stone to lose so surprised it got noticed yikes!) Maybe the face cupping was more effective than I thought??

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 02/07/2021 22:09

IIRC from my distant Weight Watchers days, once you have lost more than half a stone It really makes a visible difference (why they used to give out those silver 7s I think). So it won't just be the face cupping. However, since the data is inconclusive Wink I may try it myself, since I do not have the willpower to stop snacking yet.

To be fair, most women don’t want to draw attention to the fact that they are pregnant early on in case something goes wrong. The most she was pregnant was 11 weeks so she didn’t need to accommodate a bump. Also, her clothes in the subsequent tour of Australia were tight fitting. I don’t think it’s a criticism of what she was wearing so much as why she chose to wear it then.

smilesy · 02/07/2021 22:17

@Roussette well done on your weight loss 👏and I’m glad the drinks went well😀

Roussette · 02/07/2021 22:22

smilesy appreciate that, thank you 🙂

@CrazyCatsAndKittens

But, she was assigned people to teach her about Royal protocol, wasn’t she? It wasn’t just Meghan and Harry on their own. They had lots of staff. This is why I find it puzzling that she didn’t know about things like curtsying. Either the staff failed in their job to teach her or she failed to listen, but I don’t understand how she was so ill prepared. It’s never made sense to me.
Yep she was. She seems very intelligent, but she joined the firm and did not read the manual in front of her. She thought she did not need to learn it, actress and all, she knew all she needed to know, and was ready to take the main stage. Except it doesn't work like that!

@JaniieJones

'I presume it’s shorthand for they messaged each other, or facetimed or something.'

Yes they need to keep their feet under the rf table somehow to maintain their US 'royal' status. Let's face it I bet someone like Zara Philips wouldn't tolerate all their attention seeking crap.

agree.
bluebell34567 · 03/07/2021 00:34

@ajandjjmum

The way her coat was buttoned at the wedding certainly got everyone talking - and looking at the Australia photos, there was no need at that point to be wearing 'maternity' style clothes.
agree.
bluebell34567 · 03/07/2021 00:56

@JaniieJones

'I dont tend to criticise what a pregnant woman wears but there you go..'

But it was so obviously to get folk speculating. A pp posted a pic afterwards from Australia when she of course wasn't showing. I mean why do it, a high profile event, someone else's high profile event why wear a matronly style coat if not to get tongues wagging. It's all so very typical 'look at us!' don't look at us! that we've seen over and over again.

agree.

People do wear tighter fitting clothes nowadays, when they are pregnant. These things come and go in fashions, the Duchess of Sussex was no different to anyone else in that respect - and she looked good with it. She was so delighted to be pregnant.

Of course she looked good, no one disputes that. The fact is she didn't wear tighter fitting clothes which at that stage she could of course have got sway with, she wore a weird empire style coat to make people go, not 'oo look at eugenie' but 'oo is M pregnant?'

Gosh, are we still on the coat dress from over two years ago?! I presume we're still on this because there's nothing else to criticise her about at the moment, that must be it! 😂

You frequently bring up Fergie's various books and interviews from years ago 😂. Ditto the Wessexes, not to mention It's a Knockout from when, the 80s?? Perhaps you could contact mnhq and ask for new rules! - things that have happened in the last 12 months are only allowed to be discussed?
