Prince Harry revealed in his Oprah interview that the Sussexes stopped receiving money from the royal family in the first quarter of 2020. However, newly published accounts reveal that Prince Charles continued to financially support the Sussexes until summer 2020.

I wonder if this is going to be a case of their truth or incorrect wording on Harry’s behalf. Interesting!

Oh don't be silly lol
I think I've brought up It's a Knockout about once in ten years, nice try though!

Might mention it to MNHQ, thanks for the heads up!

BirdsandBeesmakinghay · 03/07/2021 10:27

Well at least we aren’t back to Andrew again..

Roussette · 03/07/2021 10:30

Don't worry Birds I'm brewing up to it! When it's relevant of course Smile

Samcro · 03/07/2021 10:48

i do wonder what Catherine and Meghan think about PA.

ajandjjmum · 03/07/2021 12:17

I read at the time of Harry's visit for the funeral that Andrew and his family were the only family members who were warm towards him, as they understood what it was like to be excluded. And no, I can't give a reference! Grin So might be crap.

CathyorClaire · 07/07/2021 21:04

I don't doubt Andrew would cosy up to anyone who'll have him.

@Cacacoisfarraige

Andrew should operate like a warning ‘the ghost of Christmas future’ - just to be really careful about who they associate with.
Yes if Andrew hoves into view run!

How on earth is it anyone's business, other than the Prince of Wales and H&M, if Charles supported them or not? It is private matter and it's appalling that the media got hold of it.

Clarence House ultimately agrees with Harry. He was cut off at the first term of last year.

Most likely that share of a lump sum could not cover security and CH knows this, that is why they are not stating the exact amount. Do RF members get paid in advance of a job or for work rendered? I see CH does not go into that either - which makes me think they were paying him for work done already.

Not fiscal year. Most people count 3 terms per year. So Jan-April (they may not necessarily call it Lent term though).

Mummy194 · 08/07/2021 13:18

And no, he would not say cut off and owed money , when the money was paid. He would just say cut off, as has been done.

Oldbutstillgotit · 08/07/2021 13:32

@Mummy194

How many jobs have you left and still collected a salary ?

ohforarainyday · 08/07/2021 14:07

Being someone's son is not a job.

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 08/07/2021 14:12

So when the Sussexes said they wanted to be financially independent, was that just a lie?

Oldbutstillgotit · 08/07/2021 14:17

ohforarainyday

“Being someone's son is not a job”

I am well aware of that . Mummy referred to H being paid for work done !

Like so many others I am struggling to understand why a man approaching middle age thinks he is entitled to be financially maintained by his father ( whose parenting style he criticised!)

Roussette · 08/07/2021 14:51

Well.... there's enough money sloshing around for a Mother to support her son like the Queen is doing with Andrew? And he's 61 !! He lives off handouts from Mummy and she pays off his debts too, so I really think it is up to Charles what he does or doesn't do as far as his sons.

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 08/07/2021 14:54

So they didn't mean what they said about wanting to be financially independent, then? That was just flannel to make them seem all brave and relatable to us poors?

Roussette · 08/07/2021 15:01

Skip I think you've missed the bit where they are financially independent. Tell me who is paying for their security? Them
Who paid back Frogmore? Them
And so on...
A CH spokesperson has said they're financially independent, so you can't dispute that. Unless of course you don't believe CHouse either 😂

Skiptheheartsandflowers · 08/07/2021 15:04

So why is Harry complaining about being 'cut off' if they're financially independent and that's what he wanted? Surely it's all good and he's free Smile

Roussette · 08/07/2021 15:11

He said about it during the OW chat. He hasn't since. There's no 'if' they're financially independent.
They are.

Smile

Everyone gets paid while serving notice. That is what the one year was about. They were working like everyone else within the RF. I would think that they would not expect to be paid this year.

They are not complaining about anything, just told us what took place. Them and CH agree that they were cut off at the first term last year.
PC is well aware that they need security, just as HMQ was aware and provided it for PA. They cannot help in what family they were born.

H&M are financially independent.
