Jessica Mulroney is well connected in Canada, I can’t help feeling MM seeks out people who can enhance her ambition and discards them when they no longer fit the narrative.

If they do launch themselves as Sussex Global instead of the now defunct Sussex Royal, they are going to look extremely pathetic clinging on to it after everything that has gone on.

Will be interesting to see how Global they really are though. I bet none of their charitable funds make their way to Britain! Maybe they should call themselves Sussex North America.

I doubt she’d ditch JM but what I don’t get is what’s actually in it for JM now? Surely she must start distancing herself soon?

I think they were allowed to meet the hrh titles for the same reason as the twelve month review, in case they, or Harry, changed his mind. The palace was trying to be nice to them and give them a way back in.

It’s very clear they fought the palace and the government to keep Sussex royal, their statement shows it clearly. Which in turn means they were indeed trying to use their royal positions as a way to make money. They wanted to say they were royals.

The “charities” thing being leaked is now trying to deflect from it, because they were very clear, they were doing this to make their own money. Not so they could go and do charity work quietly.

I honestly don’t get why they didn’t just put a positive spin on the mess they are in, it would have been very easy, something like “ based on our future roles, we have proactively decided, with the support of the palace, to rebrand our Sussex royal name to one which is more reflective of our work, and are very excited to reveal that in the near future”

There was no need for the idiotic angry statement stating we are still royal, Harry is sixth in line for the throne, and the queen doesn’t own the term “royal” overseas”

They need to listen to their pr teams, because when they make their own decisions they come across as angry, petulant, entitled children, stamping their feet because they didn’t get their own way.

Anyone else wondering if Meghan will stay in Canada while Harry undertakes the final Royal engagements in March ?

I really don’t see how they can come back from all this mess, it looks so awful.

Everything MM was accused of being originally, like dumping people and turning her back on family etc, it’s all here for everyone to see. The RF must be so worried for him. He isn’t the sharpest tool in the box, he really thinks this is a good idea? He’s really being played here by MM.

They want to keep the HRH and all the other titles because that is what is going to make them popular on the after dinner speaking circuit. If they are just Harry and Meg then their currency goes down.

The said they want to get away so they could rake in the money. But the did not realise that the only thing that made them attractive to the punters was their relationship to the RF and the titles.

I feel almost certain that she will. They can easily use baby Archie as an excuse.

I think they do listen to their PR team, the American one that is, that statement reads as it’s been directed towards their North American readers . I guess they must be feeling a bit embarrassed being told what they could and couldn’t use , specially to to people they are trying so hard to impress and make deals with.

What I fail to understand is the Sussex dukedom why are still clinging on to it?
Shouldn’t they be known as Harry and Meghan Mountbatten?

I think if they stayed part of the RF longer they would have planned a better deal.

I don't think she'll set foot back in the uk. There'll be some sort of illness (her or Archie) that'll mean they've been advised not to travel.

TBH I am wondering if they will just both be told to stay away and not do the final engagements. The Queen will not like the sort of drama it would create surely?

The thing is, if they had handled this better they could have been assured of their popularity, if they said they were doing it all willingly, that they were going to focus on charity work as well as earning their own living, and didn’t fight everything, or send that stupid statement about collaborating with the queen and their progressive new role, they’d have been fine.

I stopped following them in insta, suspect others will, and many people are only following them to see what they are going to do next.

Apparantly a member of the team who works with them said they are incredibly difficult to work with as they only listen to each other, sort of egg each other on, which is likely what is causing the mess they are in.

It appears they have a great pr company, if that’s true, if they had listened to them, and sought their advice before acting , they could have made this whole thing positive, instead it’s all angry petulant statements and fighting about just how royal they are. And it looks awful.

I suspect they will want to do the final royal engagements, to show the world they are royal, they need to turn up and show face.

The issue might be the palace says no. And that will cause more angry statements. So they will have to decide what’s worse. Having the Pair of them there, milking it for all it’s worth, or saying no and putting up with the shit the pair will throw in the aftermath.

The really sad thing is that the British public would have supported them giving up the HRH and the dukedom for a more private life over in Canada or elsewhere; the Cambridges managed it in Anglesey after all.

Spray is not the same, nor is it done wth the same aims (unless you're using something so heavy duty it will persist for hours, and I think the reasons to avoid that for a crowd and in a building withh ancient/delicate features should be so damned obvious that it wouid never become a request)

If she had had scented candles denied, then that wouid be a valid comparison to the Cambridge wedding.

The two US press stories I read seem to be using their statement as a starting point. The NYT noted that they had the intention of remaining royal in some form, but as a Yank my feeling is their woe is me, the palace, PoW are meanies and the Cambridge's are allowed stuff we're not will have traction over there. I also agree the website statement was designed for the US in mind.
