Kate crying was about Charlotte I think,
it was reported she told her off, or something like that and Kate cried.

Mominatrix · 22/02/2020 21:49

I stepped away from these threads a while back as the mood definitely took a dodgy turn for a bit, but I’m lured back in with this tiara talk. I don’t know much about them, but they are truly stunning. Is there a resource for finding out more about them?

GracefulHippo · 22/02/2020 21:51

I have to say... IF it happened, if Catherine just had given birth, it may have been a complete non-issue.

I am fiercely protective of my children even now (youngest is 7 years old). When I was hormonal after just giving birth, I would have literally growled at anyone coming within 3 meters of any of them...

lyralalala · 22/02/2020 21:56

@Mominatrix Tiarapedia is pretty good, as is the thread for QEII’s tiaras on the royal forum (if you google that it should bring it up)

lyralalala · 22/02/2020 21:57

What about a tiara thread, rather than derailing this one? What do we think?

MummyOfBoyAndGirl · 22/02/2020 21:58

Just when we thought H&M couldn't get cheekier......! Shock

The latest statement is a sign to me that either they have terrible advisors or they ignore the advice from their advisors!

It makes them look petty, rude and lack integrity. How can they say they didn't plan on a Royal Sussex Foundation when they actually legally were setting one up and using all those words on their website & SM.

queenofarles · 22/02/2020 22:04

A while back when Harry & Meghan issued a statement about suing the DM for the letter and other non true reporting, I thought it was the biggest mistake as people would comb through everything that was reported and easily could find out what happened and what did not.
The Tiara and Kate crying were not mentioned as not true,

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/02/2020 22:07

How can they say they didn't plan on a Royal Sussex Foundation when they actually legally were setting one up and using all those words on their website & SM

I don't know the answer to that, but it's claimed H&M said that they knew what their own intentions were, so nothing else really matters Confused

Oh, and allegedly the "trademarking" of the name on the various bits of tat wasn't done so that they could use it, but to stop anyone else from doing so ...

PelicanPie · 22/02/2020 22:14

They seem to have a real persecution complex. Everyone is out to get them and they are poor, put upon victims. Only their friends (i.e. Meghan's friends) are to be trusted, and they are required to leak positive stories at regular intervals.
Even family members who love and care for them are out to get them from their perspective.
It's quite a worrying mentality that they have.

lilmishap · 22/02/2020 22:22

The sussex royal foundation on companies house 1st July 2019
Company type
Private Limited Company by guarantee without share capital use of 'Limited' exemption
Still lists correspondence address as Kensington Palace..

Cohle · 22/02/2020 22:23

Tiaras are worn only by one person in their lifetime. ( lifetime loan)

I don't think that's true though. Kate's wedding day tiara had been worn multiple times by Princess Anne in the past.

The Lotus flower tiara that Kate has also worn to a state dinner was worn by Viscountess Linley on her wedding day etc.

But yes sorry, this isn't a tiara thread!

Packingsoapandwater · 22/02/2020 22:26

I went to a tiaras exhibition at the V&A back in the early noughties. Now I'm not a jewellery person at all, but some of the pieces were mesmerising. I desperately wanted to try a few of them on. Grin

So very, very sparkly.

queenofarles · 22/02/2020 22:26

I think that both had not so good relationship with their parents growing up and that had an impact on them, they probably only "see" friends advice as genuine and family are not.
If the reason for Harry and Will no contact is about Will saying not to rush it, for me it’s not that big of deal, and the fallout was bound to happen down the line for any reason.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 22/02/2020 22:26

Interesting article from Camilla Twomey in The Telegraph

www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2020/02/22/bitter-desperate-clear-harry-meghan-dont-plan-quit-firm-quietly/

Leflic · 22/02/2020 22:27

When the Queen dies ( bless your Majesty, not for while I hope) then the shit hits the fan. Charles and Camilla haven’t got the gravitas of the longest serving Monarch. That’s when H&M will weasel their way back to cause damage. Because if they can be this petty now once they have their money and business up and running they will be in position to drag them down properly.
And they will have both because money goes to money and neither are hard up. And being a spoiler is way more immediate publicity = status, than dignified silence.
Poor Kate and William. Defending endless exposes on life “ growing up” under the shadow of his brother, how Kate made life hard for Meghan, how Britian was ready for a new sort of loyalty..I can see it now.

MissEliza · 22/02/2020 22:27

Meghan should have been smart and played the game. I think that sums up the whole problem!

yolofish · 22/02/2020 22:28

NO, please keep with the tiara talk! I had no idea there was so much tiara protocol involved .

I suppose Companies House will take time to update.

alliwantisagoodnightssleep · 22/02/2020 22:28

Daddy’s Duchy Dosh!

lyralalala · 22/02/2020 22:36

I don't think that's true though. Kate's wedding day tiara had been worn multiple times by Princess Anne in the past.

The Lotus flower tiara that Kate has also worn to a state dinner was worn by Viscountess Linley on her wedding day etc.

The lifetime loan is a loose rule.

Princess Anne wore the scroll tiara when she was very young, before she had use of the Festoon tiara and her grandmother’s Meander tiara

Viscountess Linley wore the Lotus Flower as it was, at that time, Princess Margaret’s tiara. In the same way Zara and Autumn wore tiaras associate with Princess Anne

Generally the British royals don’t interchange the tiaras around in the way other royals do

yoikes · 22/02/2020 22:37

The meander tiara is my favourite which seems fitting as princess andrew of greece (god rest her soul) is my favourite royal.

lyralalala · 22/02/2020 22:38

Kate hasn’t worn the Lotus tiara since she was given the ‘big hitter’ of the Lover’s Knot tiara. That is likely to be her go-to tiara

DeRigueurMortis · 22/02/2020 22:41

*I don't think that's true though. Kate's wedding day tiara had been worn multiple times by Princess Anne in the past.

Yes but this is before they were gifted to the DoC by HMQ.

You have to remember that prior to Catherine joining the firm there were not many senior royal women to wear them.

So they were used for special occasions such as weddings etc.

Anne was gifted the Festoon and Meander Tiara's and that's what she wears now (Zara wore the Meander for her wedding) but she wore many others in the past.

DeRigueurMortis · 22/02/2020 22:44

Sorry lots of cross posts there!

Catherine does "regularly" wear the Lotus though to state occasions.

It's not inferior to the Lovers Knot - personally I prefer it.

CanIHaveATiaraPlease · 22/02/2020 22:49

I hope you are wrong leflic but sadly I think they will up the pressure once HMQ goes. If this is how they behave with his grandmother how much worse will they be with his dad & brother.

CatherineOfAragonsPomegranate · 22/02/2020 22:49

Can we have accompanying pictures of said Tiaras?

Even better ladies wearing said Tiaras. I'm not able to upload pictures.
