Charles has created his own little paradise there, I'm very envious of it. The gardens...OMG. I just can't see him wanted to accommodate anyone else LONG term.

Listen, one thing the RF isn't short of is bedrooms. I won't fret too much about where the Sussex's could crash if they were on a flying visit.

Prince Charles has about 4 houses.
Birkhall and Dumfries house in Scotland.
Highgrove and Clarence House.

Stick them in a cheap B&B😜
I doubt Megs will be back for a while because she knows she will get a negative reaction;from the public.
Harry will probably come back at any given opportunity a bit like my friend's daughter who is nit settling in at Uni.

Find it's not what you thought it would be and wish to extricate yourself so perhaps exaggerate the negativity so you don't look flaky to those who warned you and to maximise your chances of getting something better.

This is such a good point and quite empathic I think.

Take on role at new organisation despite being warned that it might not be quite what you expect. Come in all excited to be a “new broom” full of ideas about doing things differently. When it doesn’t work out, blame the organisation.

I watched their engagement video again yesterday. It’s really quite bizarre to watch a mere 3 years later. She is SO confident and in control of the situation and they’re so full of praise for the RF for being welcoming towards her. And then the decision to share with the world the intimacy of the nights together in a tent in Botswana early in their relationship. It’s sort of sweet but sort of strange.

It really did sound like a whirlwind.

Oh that article really fills in some missing gaps. I think MM wanted to use the RF with all it offers as a stepping stone into building her profile as a humanitarian.

When I googled it, one reference (Alamay Stock) was labelled 'Diana hit by flying flowers'! It's hard with photos, they're just snapshots I suppose!

I think she’s never really intended to stay. It’s been a stepping stone to bigger things. She probably justifies to herself by thinking that Harry is miserable and wants out so she’s doing him a favour. All along she’s been courting the US market not the Uk.
I don’t think she gives a stuff who she hurts or what damage she does on the way up.

I know I said we mainly differed on whether or not she faced racism and press intrusion but this did highlight another difference.

I don't think there was anything wrong with ignoring warnings. She could have heard those warnings and thought no, I won't give up on him if I love him, I'll marry him and we can try and change it together from inside.

So maybe she's not flaky, or covering up, or greedy just over-optimistic but well intentioned. I'm glad they chose each other, and are still choosing each other.

I too hosted a wedding breakfast party for Harry & Meghan - we all had to wear red while & blue. I can’t have been the only one wishing them well originally & seeing how awful it is a couple of years later.

To be fair , I wonder if the real issue is an USA UK divide , they are very patriotic, us not so much but maybe she didn't fully understand the feelings many Brits have about the queen and to a lesser extent the royals . Money aside a lot of people take offence a what seems to be a slight and lack of respect to queen and country! Also no one likes to be labelled racist after welcoming a new comer.

I see these threads as essentially like a group of friends having a coffee and a chat.

Exactly this, Sunset. I have friends with whom I disagree. I don't feel the need to be rude or insulting to them in expressing my opinion. I don't aggressively challenge theirs. I listen to their point of view and if we can't find a meeting point we agree to disagree.

Mostly I have found these threads operate along the same lines. Of late it feels like I have wandered into a pub car park with people throwing punches. It's very sad.

Lets be honest here. What was next for Meghan if she didn't meet Harry? Serious question. Suits was coming to an end. She's approaching her forties. There's literally 100's of actresses to compete with, many much younger and more talented. She might have got another show or multiple guest star appearances on running series but it is highly unlikely she would have ever achieved the profile and wealth she has now. She threw herself into the RF thing, didn't like it and very soon starting planning how to get out of it while still keeping her profile and using it to advantage the next steps in her career. I actually don't think she went into it with this intention, as many believe, but I think the shine wore off very quickly and the planning started.

I honestly find it difficult to comprehend how people cannot see this is now all part of a career/life plan and still actually believe that she just wants to retreat with the man she loves to raise her baby in peace. She was given that chance at the beginning, she is right now in the middle of another chance to do that. Her husband wants that too, she has been hugely supported by the RF to do this, yet still the visits and alleged pap shots. Now the silence since Harry arrived and seems to have put a stop to it.

I for one am very interested to see what happens next.

This is your opinion which is valid , but we don't know the facts .
Even if this is true ... some people doesn't equate to a whole country .
That's the point I'm making . You don't blame the whole for the actions of the few !
