So the saga continues
Thé Canadians are not happy about paying for the Sussexes security

I think that will be their downfall. They can’t actually fund the cost of their «freedom»
Other security experts saying that the cost of 24/7 private security is about £4million per year.

Problem is; they have skipped the a Royal fold, and have to pay the real cost of their security and accommodation . They will have to sell every aspect of their Lives to fund this.

Not sure where the political slant slants...

Demegcrat or ReNoPublicAn?

I loved MegDonalds Grin

JulietJanuary · 14/01/2020 21:53

I didn't remember that Andylion.

astralweaks · 14/01/2020 21:54

There are three occasions that I can think of that she looked thoroughly miffed not to be in the front row.

TVdinners · 14/01/2020 21:55

Talking about Ronald Reagan, does anyone remember the time when he was visiting Britain, and his wife Nancy refused to curtsy to the Queen ?
I think they thought they were Americans and they were not going to bow or curtsy before anyone. I may have read later that actually Nancy was fine with the curtsy but Ronald said ' No' .

cheezy · 14/01/2020 21:56

Well that doesn’t fit with the narrative about her being such a good actress does it Hmm

cheezy · 14/01/2020 21:58

That was directed at @astralweaks

As well as the ubiquitous #megxit on twitter; there was also #harryvederci

Weirdly it sort of becomes "natural" to curtsey to them! Like you are in the receiving line, thinking "do I say nice to meet you your royal highness or do I just smile" next minute they are in front of you, you smile and you just bend at the knee. It's like they have some sort of Jedi Power I swear! 🤣

Inniu · 14/01/2020 22:00

Why would any head of state, or just anyone, curtsy?

Xalia · 14/01/2020 22:01

Ohhh, i see........ she looked thoroughly miffed
Good evidence then?
Biscuit

BillieEilish · 14/01/2020 22:01

cheezy she did it deliberately, to look 'hurt' and could not hide that she was pissed off also.

She knows when people are watching.

SeperatedSwans · 14/01/2020 22:02

Innui for me each time I've met a royal, I seem to just hear my grandmother in my head "remember clean knickers every day, and curtsey to the queen should you meet her". I haven't met HMQ but have met two others.

WendyMoiraAngelaDarling · 14/01/2020 22:03

Why would any head of state, or just anyone, curtsy?

Because it's customary. I can just imagine how much of a drubbing our own dignitaries would get if they refused to adhere to harmless local customs when on state visits.

MrsBrentford · 14/01/2020 22:03

Harvey was 🔥

BillieEilish · 14/01/2020 22:04

She had stated she was going to be Diana mark 2. Albeit 20 years older.

She became her own self fulfilling prophecy. She didn't wait one millisecond.

BillieEilish · 14/01/2020 22:06

Harvey was, I'll give you that Mrs B ! But to me, Louis and Donna... hilarious!

MrsBrentford · 14/01/2020 22:06

Evidence here

Harry and Meghan resigning Act 4: the Price of Freedom.....?
MrsBrentford · 14/01/2020 22:07

Donna and Lewis were also excellent, after the amazing clothes 🤣🤣

BillieEilish · 14/01/2020 22:07
Grin
TVdinners · 14/01/2020 22:07

Why would any head of state, or just anyone, curtsy?

I think because it is showing courtesy to the country which is receiving you to observe the protocols and traditions of the host country.

MrsBrentford · 14/01/2020 22:09

I would curtsy to Harvey.

I would do anything he asked Grin

kinsss · 14/01/2020 22:10

Give it another week. All over.

Or just the remnants of those who will not let go but have no power to decide anyway.

Justmuddlingalong · 14/01/2020 22:12

So, is the journey from Vancouver to Vancouver Island only possible by plane?

BillieEilish · 14/01/2020 22:12

The thing is Kinsss Meg won't WANT that. She will try and overshadow every.single.royal event in the U.K

She wants to keep herself relevant. In the press. This is the irony.

JulietJanuary · 14/01/2020 22:13

There is a ferry, lol!

Most scenic one I've ever taken.
