Storm has notions of being a car engineer - he wants one of those flat beds on wheels for examining the underside of things.

I think most cats are excellent yogis but would struggle to teach humans since we’re so incredibly inflexible compared to them.

Inflexible?

I'll eat anything, unlike my cats.
They pretend to like certain cat foods so that I buy 96 pouches of them, then the cats walk off when they find that particular food in their bowl.
Hmm

I think that’s cat humour.

Contemporary dance.

Falling that, middle management. She's good at keeping an eye on things while doing bugger all.

Eleni would like to be a marine biologist. Sofia is looking into public service. Alternatively, the pair of them are considering going into business together as tree surgeons ... though at her 1st attempt, Eleni had to be rescued with a very long ladder after being 'stuck' for 36 hours!

Mine is fully trained it 'sitting on male visitors knees'.

Balancing on my arm while I type.

Sleeping in odd places.

She is still in training to hijack vans, we think this is how she went missing for a few days, thank the kitty goddess for microchips.

Lynx has got amazing ears: is that where he got his name from? Handsome boy!

GrinchoftheNorth · 28/01/2026 19:36

I have a Town Crier in training.

Her brother is hoping for a career in escalopology, he fails at the final hurdle when he manages to get out but then remains stuck, usually on our roof.

The smallest cat of the house is a common thief. If she was allowed outside she'd have been slapped with an ASBO by now

Puppylucky · 28/01/2026 20:00

One last career option from Marvin (highly judgemental) household god

Oh and Kitty is already a model. She’s a calendar cat.

The rescue she came from did a calendar, with Kitty as Miss July. I think she’s pleased with the photo.

Thank you, we think he’s gorgeous and yes his tufted ears led to his name. It’s not always easy to find a name that both suits them and that you’re comfortable calling from the front doorstep!

Gizmo did consider politics, too.

He couldn't get up to the top of the wardrobe so he settled for the mantlepiece instead.

Perhaps he was planning to be a disability rights activist, campaigning for more human assistance for the less agile cat…

Given his exciting & heartwarming story, there has been talk on the Excellent Cats threads of Gizmo’s potential as an influencer. @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne pointed out that if either of her two was going to be the Face of Scottish Tourism it really ought to be Linney as the native Scot, but I think there’s definitely potential for them to work as a pair.

I’m struggling to think. Perhaps mine could be models? Or waste compactors - they enjoy ripping up cardboard with their teeth.

is there a job where if someone else needs to move or build or clean something, you sit on it?

Incredible markings, absolutely stunning, definitely top model worthy @Buffypaws

EmpressaurusKitty · 31/01/2026 09:08

Kitty opened the bedroom curtains this morning. Not very far but enough so that she could sit there & see out.

I was reading in bed & vaguely aware that she was busy doing something, but didn’t realise what until I looked round.

That plus her interest in baking (she wanted to help me make rolls last night & was annoyed that she was only able to supervise) might be the start to a job as a housekeeper but I don’t see her being interested in the cleaning & tidying bits.

Alarm clock. I've also just been woken up with one of ours breaking into my wardrobe (sliding doors which if she scrabbles at long enough noisily she can get in and destroy my jumpers with claws and hair). I've had a long week so having a well deserved lie in.

Her favourite human (DP) left early this morning for a couple of weeks of working away so now I have to put up with her sulking about because he's not here and then witness her jumping up and shouting hello when he calls - mobile signal where we are is shit, so he calls the landline. He always talks to her first Angry
