Carried forward from the previous thread.

Lenny however needs a rest before he starts searching.

He’s lovely, @Kirova.

Kitty takes my hand in her mouth occasionally but I think it’s affection when she does it, she’s never bitten me - yet.

But that's what Mr. G does.
No actual biting, just holding on gently with his teeth.

Unless picked up? For which you really can’t blame him.

stormsandsunshine · 16/02/2026 14:29

Snowcat sometimes takes my hand very gently in her mouth. She never bites down and is very careful - usually it's to get me to hold still so that she can then groom my hand for me.

Ah yes. But that's more scratching as well as biting.
Yes, he gets very upset if anyone tries to pick him up.

Isn't it really that he gets very violent upset if anyone suggests that he does something that he doesn't want to do, or dares suggest that he stop doing something that he wants to do.

So mean about poor old Gizmo/TC.

FC1 did not really like to be picked up. She didn't bite but she did wriggle and squirm. On her last day with me, she actually allowed herself to be picked up and carried for around 30 seconds before wriggling, and that was quite an achievement.

Might be a lapcat, but I don't think she'll ever be a picky-uppy cat.

Here he is. Butter wouldn't melt.

OMG what an adorable kitty 😍

Very keen on washing me (am I dirty?)
Some say it's to put his own scent on you (ownership).
Some say it's a form of self soothing so you are "one" being.
Some say it's to get essential salts from your sweat.
Some say it's to work out if you are edible.

Let's go with the first line and not the last 😂

Gizmo runs a lot of online learning

As a twist on U3A (university of the third age), would that be University of the nine lives (U9A)?

He looks like a very sweet boy and I think he must have been cruelly slandered because he has obviously never harmed a fly in his life. I love his two-tone paw pads!

Esgaroth · 16/02/2026 15:32

I have just enjoyed my traditional Shrove Monday cream bun and Kettle kindly offered to help tidy up the cream. I don't know why he chooses to wipe it up and lick it off his paw rather than licking the plate directly but I find it so cute I can never bring myself to stop him.

Oops U9L
In my defence I am fighting a stinking cold right now and have a head full of glue. (Yes the two are connected!)

I will have to keep an eye on Matilda's laptop usage. Who knows what she could get up to if exposed to Gizmo's online learning.

The biter settled himself down in an Amazon box in the corridor last night (it was on its way out for recycling but he's welcome to it) but I awoke at 6am when he jumped onto the bed and stretched himself out beside me and put his head on the pillow. May think he is a human - species dysphoria?

He's beautiful and already making himself at home. 😻

In tonight’s Norwegian Duolingo session i learned ‘My cat is not a lawyer.’ (Katten min er ikke advokat).

I suspect some cats would make excellent lawyers if they could be bothered.

Linney demonstrates what his views are with regard to Gizmo's online presence

They'd be very good at presenting a defence.
Something along the lines of "No, it wasn't my client. Because I said so. No further questions m'Lud."

Darling Gizmo... If that's his typical expression in the school playground, I'm slightly surprised none of the parents have complained about their little darlings being terrorised.

At the complain-y semi inner London primary my DD goes to, you can be sure some parents would have said their kids found it triggering, or that his expression in some way infringed their human rights or religious beliefs.

Was wondering!

Finger biter (who is still yet to bite any fingers) loves his food. He makes little ecstatic purring noises while he eats it. Little FC1 went at whatever she was eating like a savage (even if it was just dry food) in an adorable bit slightly alarming way, so it's a contrast.

😩

He sounds utterly adorable ❤

I'm going to take a stab at his previous people not understanding his messages and either going too far when he's got over stimulated, or playing a bit roughly with him, or not seeing when he's warned them he doesn't appreciate something.
