Cat Three just opened the back door by himself and came in. He is just as surprised as anyone.

In a cat-based social media group I'm in some students just posted a survey about their project to create a robot cat to 'help cat owners feel emotionally connected to their cats when they are apart'. Asking things like would you want the robot to purr or be warm or have a fake heartbeat 😄

Honestly what a dumb idea. Or I thought so anyway. Anyone here wish they had a warm purring object to take out with them?

Not if it went off in airport security, I was embarased enough when they thought my electric toothbrush was a vibrator

Bonkers. Is this along the lines of emotional support animals?

I guess such an object could be used in some therapeutic purposes similar to how those fake babies are sometimes used.

But the students were suggesting that cat owners, with an actual pet cat at home, would take the object out with them so that they didn't miss their cat too much or something 😆

Whenever I take Kitty out with me she’s definitely not purring.

Some cats (including Herbie) have infiltrated a MAFS thread. (Married at First Sight tv show)
One of the couples visited a cat cafe and one of them freaked out because he didn't like cats!
Then we were posting photos of our cats to liven things up.Generally asleep next to us on the sofa as this series of MAFS is the worst in history.

My sister talked me into watching Love Island with her once. Is it worse than that?

I looked at the cats protection adoption page for my area
I have fallen in love with one of their cats
But we are away in december and my husband has rightly pointed out that we need constantly available after the cat is adopted.
Reassure me tell me it takes ages for them to decide if you are suitable.
Not that I want the poor cat to be stuck in a shelter rather than a home to suit me and my holiday

I don't know as I've never watched that.
But it's pretty bad. The threads are hilarious though, we post stuff as we're watching.

I wouldn't change my holiday plans, if this cat finds a loving home before you're ready then she'll be happy with them and it wasn't meant to be. There will be an excellent cat waiting for you when it's the right time. No harm in applying and saying when you can take a cat, though!

Mind you I don't know how long the process takes in the UK, probably depends on the rescue! I applied to our local rescue and after a quick chat over Messenger they were practically throwing cats at me within a week. It was very quick.

I'm very much a believer in the right cat(s) being available at the right time for you. It may be that the fates have put that cat in front of you to make sure you're mentally in the right place when the right cat is ready. On the other hand, my first 2 waited a whole year for me to come along so this one may well still be around in a few more weeks. As Esgaroth says, no harm in asking about it. They may decide that you're the perfect match.

Annie went with the intention of looking at 2 cats in particular when she went to get hers, and the cats made it quite clear that she wasn't The One for them. But those cats are now blissfully happy in another home, and Annie is besotted with the 2 she did get

When I was first fostering Kitty & her final kitten, a couple came to see her & decided she wasn’t for them.

Then a month or two later there was a woman who was interested but kept cancelling her appointments to visit & then just stopped replying to texts.

It was all very frustrating at the time.
