Yeah, right.

Linney is more suitable.

At least he's actually a Scottish cat.

Gizmo is an English interloper, who only came to Scotland in order to get behind my bathroom cupboard.

I’ve been slowly reading my way through the old Thug Cat threads, most amusing so far. Am about to start Thread 3 - can’t get over how blooming persistent he was.

In the meantime, Storm has been casting aspersions on my housework by blatantly checking if I’ve missed any cobwebs.

I wonder if that’s what Kitty’s doing when she reaches up to the ceiling?

If it was Girlcat, she'd be looking to see if the now homeless spider was trying to hide there. She does love a spider as a special treat. 🙀

EmpressaurusKitty · 02/11/2025 20:22

I’m pretty sure Kitty would stare round-eyed at a spider & then forget about it.

I’ve just been watching her wash the backs of her knees & I have to admit to wishing I could be that flexible.

My two, specially the female, have excellent spider radars. Which is rather welcome I must admit. My previous two were useless, they did not earn their keep!

😂

On the flip-side, I often wonder what they’re thinking when they watch me get dressed/undressed “how come we don’t get to wear different coloured fur each day?”

EmpressaurusKitty · 02/11/2025 21:29

Kitty’s been focusing hard on her Ouija board tonight & repeatedly picking NO & L.

I think either she’s practising Christmas carols or she’s rejecting a proposal.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne & @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats , was either Linney or Lenny planning something?

Lenny is always plotting something.
But he's outside currently looking for field mice to beat up so I can't ask him just at the moment.

Poor field mice. Can you pass the message on when you see him?

I quite like having spiders about the house, reduces bloody flying insects.

Plus possibly one of the most yuk things I've seen was Girlcat walking happily into the room with some still wriggling legs sticking out of her mouth. I think that one was Edwin, a very friendly house spider who used to dash around the living room looking for luurve.

The image you’ve conjured up there is the stuff of nightmares for me. I often picture them coming towards me and dropping a live one in my lap.

I hate those big house spiders, so I really don’t mind them being dealt with. I have learnt to love and live with the spindly cellar spiders. They stay in their lane (corner), they’re great for dealing with unwanted insects (very handy in a timber-framed property) and they occasionally deal with the large house spiders which is pretty awesome when they look so delicate.

RumNotRun · 02/11/2025 22:52

@Ijwwm My cellar spiders are lazy little buggers. I agreed to let them stay as for some reason the houses on my street get infested with flies during the summer (they're only just beginning to die off now!). None of the spiders nor the cats do anything about the flies. I've even seen a big fat fly land on Fred who just twitched his fur. It is predominantly fruit flies (I think( but there are usually one or two bluebottles buzzing around irritating me.

Maybe I need to get rid of the cellar spiders and see if the creepy house ones will do any better 😬

All four of mine ignore spiders, much to Mr.AgentofthePatriarchy’s disappointment. Flying insects are hunted and eaten, though. Swings and roundabouts.
Here is a photo of Cat Four’s brother. He is absolutely massive now - 7 kgs 🤯 His mother still treats him as her baby and grooms him impeccably.

She summoned a QCDNOROJI from outer space to set on Broon’s ex & may or may not have had something to do with the weird lights in the sky a few months ago.

I tread carefully.

Dear God - I know vet bills are increasing but we've just taken Karl and Lenny for their annual MOTs and jabs and it was £92 each.

That'll be £368 for the four cats - do the injections contain gold? 😲

Does anyone think the cats arrange these cat 'festivals' themselves?

And as far as all cats are concerned, I'm convinced of that.

He looks just like Jess from Postman Pat!
