Gizmo is an English interloper, who only came to Scotland in order to get behind my bathroom cupboard.

First snow of the year. Kettle is undaunted.

@Pixiedust1234 I use the Trixie brand cat grass. I line a bowl (was a food bowl) with a couple of layers of kitchen roll to hold the water & give the roots something to hang on to, then scatter the seeds/that stuff that's in the bag with it.

You need to ensure you've shaken up the bag well especially if you aren't using the entire bag, as otherwise you get all of the other stuff in one place and all the seeds left in the bag or in one clump.

You also need to make sure you're adding water every day, enough to keep the kitchen roll moist. Put it somewhere in daylight in the warm (I use kitchen windowsill) where the cat(s) won't dig it up until you've got about 2-4 inches of grass then put it down for them; I put mine near the feeding station. It will eventually die off as no nutrition, but as long as you keep the kitchen roll damp it should last a few weeks.

And that snow can go far, far away and then some more. Kettle is such a big brave boy. Both of my rescues have disapproved of the wet stuff that looks solid.

It's the biggest snowfall in October that I have ever seen. We're up to over 30 cm now and it's still falling hard! Kettle is safely warm inside now and I'm not letting him out again until it's stopped - not that he is asking to go!

30cm would even camouflage Kettle!!!!

Oh we're not snowed in, it's easy to walk in when it's fresh. We are very close to the shops. Theoretically we could also drive if we wanted but walking is safer in this weather.

I had a headache earlier so went for a nap. Toad joined me as he was concerned, not because I had the hot blanket on, honest!

Talking about snow made me realise that @stormsandsunshine isn’t here - I hope she & the girls are ok.

I've put some apples and mealworms out in the snow for the birds and ol' Scarface is entranced.

Would a Swedish cat be permitted to join in occasionally? He came with a passport and everything when I rehomed him earlier this year.

His name is Storm and his occupation is enthusiastically positioning himself for as much attention and cuddles as possible. He most definitely agrees with my single life preference because, you know, it means all my love and attention is doled out to the felines.

All are welcome here - especially so when they look THAT gorgeous. He is truly magnificent! That floof, that tail..... 💕

They nearly went on a trip to Ljubljana Prison last year.

It's a bit of a long story, but there was going to be a wedding.
However, Gizmo couldn't persuade Suzy to marry him (it turned out that she was already married to Linney) so there was no wedding, no punch-up on the plane to Slovenia, and no imprisonment.
