Gizmo is an English interloper, who only came to Scotland in order to get behind my bathroom cupboard.

Yay, I think he’s always wanted to be part of a marauding gang of Excellent Cats 😻

He has just turned 20 months. He is from Sweden, now living the high life in Essex. He is ridiculously friendly. Am having a fair amount of work done here at the moment - the trades people love him and the delivery drivers from the builders merchants are disappointed if he’s not supervising from the conservatory window 😂.

He loves cuddles, loves his beds, but also spends a lot of time chilled out in weird positions on the floor - that took a bit of getting used to at first. I’ll pop some more photos on. And look forward to seeing future news on these threads - you lot are very witty, have loved reading it!

He probably likes meatballs and Abba as well. I didn't know rescues were moving cats from Sweden to the UK now!

Kettle (officially known as Ketill) is another Viking cat so he and Storm can discuss raiding tactics and which monasteries have the best loot.

Have also got a born-and-bred Essex bird called Misty - she’s just turned one. She and Storm are the best of pals. They sound like a herd of Wildebeest when they have their mad zoomies. She can often look grumpy or stern in photos, but she’s the most affectionate cat I’ve had so far. She tolerates Storm clamping her down for a good grooming session which finishes with her looking as though she’s used a tub of wet-look hair gel.

Misty looks absolutely furious and I love that for her.

And,finally, the gang is completed with Bubbles who is around 16. My mum got her as a rescue 7 years ago and I took her in when mum suddenly passed away. No one can believe her age, she’s like a sprightly kitten.

She hates my two with a passion, yet tolerates any visitors to the garden. She has her own set up in the log cabin in the garden. And has had the best summer ever supervising the outdoor work going on - the guys working here know that their work needs to be up to her standards, they’re a bit in love with her. I adore her and am hoping she’s got many years left with such a young at heart outlook 😻

Im very pleased to have found a little gang for them.

He has no choice in loving ABBA as I grew up with my mum listening to them so I love them too. Not sure about the meatballs, will keep an eye out to see if there’s any reaction if we go past an IKEA.

That’s amazing, a fellow Viking for him to plot with would be most welcome. He was actually imported as a stud, but wasn’t the right lifestyle for him, so they wanted a forever pet home for him. I’m so lucky that they (and he) chose me. Am in regular touch with them.

She reminds me of an old school teacher peering over the top of a pair of glasses. My BIL thinks she looks like a gremlin 😂

So that's 2 excellent failed breeding cats here - I think it was Penelope who was supposed to have kittens but refused to have anything to do with her chosen mate - @toddlerteaplease can you confirm whether I've got that right or not?

This was the stag do. The girls were going to stay with Kitty’s cousin in Tuscany for tree climbing, sunbathing, lizard chasing & taking turns to fly down the hills on Kitty’s skateboard.

Kitty was 5 & pregnant when rescued, I’ve never seen a happier cat than her on the day her final kitten got rehomed.

Bless her, and it now looks like she’s living the highlife.

Was a bit of an unusual situation with Storm, but the breeders made the right decision straight away. We are still in contact every couple of weeks and he’s living his best life as the lord of the manor!

That’s one way of putting it! Your three are gorgeous.

So my very unexcellent ex has been the cause of my buying and watching a plethora of DVDs of ancient TV series.

I'm currently ploughing through Within These Walls which was a 1970s show about a women's prison. It ran for five series and I've got to series three.

This is costing me a fortune on Ebay and CeX

The latest episode is called:
The Prison Cat
and the cat in question looks like he might be Grumpy's latest visiting cat's great-great-grandfather. He's a magnificent ginger tom.

I shall, of course, update the thread once I've discovered what The Prison Cat gets up to.
