Joancat is very excited about the possibility of chicken, as she is very underfed and fears she is at risk of starving to death.

More catflap action today! Snowcat went out this morning and we shut the door because it was still cold. In a moment of dazzling intellect, she went round to the side door where the catflap is. Then her intellect failed because although the catflap was taped open, she just sat there miaowing. When I put my hand through the catflap, she had a lightbulb moment and jumped through.

Meanwhile, Stripey had heard Snowcat miaowing and got really upset. We found her howling on the landing and running back and forward. DD1 had to carry her downstairs to show her that Snowcat was not lost forever but safely eating her breakfast. There was a touching reunion (from Stripey's perspective - I think Snowcat was a bit puzzled about why her sister came running up to nuzzle her).

Enough excitement for one day

Tobias is very smug when it comes to chicken, and all those poor deprived kitties here. On our way home from the hospital Annie kindly stopped at the KFC near my house, so I could treat myself (first take away for about a year).

Tobias was very appreciative of scraps of seasoned chicken with the coating removed, he's already asking me when I will next be going. Girlcat ate one piece out of good manners, then left the other couple of pieces so he got even more.

Welcome to all the new cats! I will shortly be in the dog house (I would say cat house but that will be too good for me I fear) I have just cooked 8 chicken breasts and had the audacity to put spices on all of them. The tribe will be most displeased that the chicken is not for them.

You didn't put one or two pieces aside for your numerous, unfortunate cats?

Neighbour's cat has decided I am evil and is avoiding me, because I would not let her into my house. Her sister is still loving me and grateful for the use of the back garden and the long grass as a resting place.

I have had a terrible assistant at work today. He has typed nonsensical messages to colleagues, ripped a hole in my top when I tried to evict him from my desk, and shouted at me for no apparent reason.

The freezer has completely stopped working.
I've had to answer thirty or so questions from the insurance company.
I've had to try to work out why some of the pictures of the spoiled food, which I took on my phone, will not upload.

Downside - massive waste of food.

Upside - fillet steak for dinner last night and chicken tonight.

Am expecting a long queue of Excellent Cats when they hear this news.

Breadcat is so hot she is trying to be as flat as she can on the grass.
But she has a new favourite thing that you guys might want to try which seems to cool her down. The bones from the (unseasoned) chicken were made into concentrated stock (no veg this was for the cat) which turned to jelly in the fridge. She is very happy to slurp up a couple of spoons full of cold jelly and it seems to cool her down
