Wow Grumpy, that is a very spoilt girl!

thanks Broon for new thread

has anyone tried the new Lick-e-Pops yet? Can’t get a photo of her ladyship enjoying them as she immediately grabs them and runs away! So here she is looking cute anyway.

I tried them with Penelope and she had absolutely no clue what to do with it. Mithril loved it though.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 17/08/2025 12:15

Ha! I have got to take Linney and Gizmo to the vet tomorrow. Linney is having his Solensia and Gizmo is having his yearly check-up, plus jabs - and I want her to look at one of his teeth.

Anyway, I thought I'd try out the gabapentin on him, so I put 50mg in a Lickelix and the bugger wouldn't try it.

So I put another 50mg in some of his favourite food, and he stuffed himself.

It's now been 90 minutes and he's definitely woozy.

I think a full 100mg tomorrow will do the trick. I shall report back.

Vixen has decided she likes ice pops, or at least the icy bit of the outside of the packaging.

Mini Pollock is not co-operative at the vets. Also very suspicious of 'doctored' food/treats. She now has a red alert on her vet records... Aggressive Cat!
So I'm asking all the excellent druggies - do you generally prefer crushed pill or liquid gabapentin for your high?

Good luck tomorrow @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne

Yes, good luck Broon.

Since it's BCAD today I think Basil should make an appearance too.
Best wishes to all the other black cats on the thread.🐈‍⬛

We were given liquid gaba for Mr. G.

He's now crashed out under the table.

Most impressed by druggy Gizmo. We used crushed pills mixed with Lick-e-Lix for Sybil. She is very entertaining on Gabapentin 🤣

Boris wanted to join in with black cat appreciation day too.

Just realised that I hadn't done him justice with that fuzzy picture. I need to get a new phone and get some decent pictures of him.

Pa Broon has broken my heart.

He discovered some footage (on FB) of the choir I sing with.

He said, "ooh, I can see you in this" and proceeded to show me the back view of an almost bald 90 year old woman.

The little quantity of hair she had was straggly. She was wearing a floral pink top. I wouldn't be seen dead in such a top.

I am 69, I am not bald, and my hair is not grey. It is dark blonde.

I was very distressed. He tried to say it was because he recognised the pink floral top.

I mean WTF. How could be recognise a top which I do not own?

The thing is, he was serious. He really thought it was me, based on the top. I asked him to take a closer look and he realised that it couldn't possibly be me.

He is still in the dog house.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne lots of flowers for you and a visit to the optician in the future for him!!

Pianoaholic · 17/08/2025 17:19

Sympathies to you @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne .
Once when I went to the pharmacy, the (doolally !) lady serving kept saying I could have free prescriptions because I was 60. I told her I was actually 50. She'd misread my year of birth on the prescription.
I left with as much dignity as I could muster!

When I was 50, a woman stopped me in the street and gave me a flyer for a new hair salon.

She then told me that Wednesday was the cheap day for OAPs.

I was affronted.

Well when I think back, I shouldn't have said anything and just had the prescription free!

Last month I was looking at the cat toys in Pets at Home next to a bloke with a small kid who wanted to play with them.

He said to me ‘You know what grandkids are like.’

No. I don’t know what grandkids are like. And I must look older than I thought.
