Rule 7. Any patch of sun must be slept in, even if it's the 10th nap of the day, and you really should be out and about!

Has Lexter grown some more fur Rum? He seems very fluffy and he's got a stripy diamond on his forehead that I don't remember seeing before.

That rule was designed entirely for the benefit of Gizmo.

I am awaiting the photo but it is very slow!

RumNotRun · 02/07/2025 20:05

@HumanToCatBeastieshe may have done, or it may just be the light. His fluffy bits are incredibly fluffy at the moment, despite daily brushing, and his naked bits seem to stay naked.

He was actually panting on the windowsill yesterday but still wouldn't move out of the sun. I aimed a little handheld fan at him and he moved away but still against the window. Dopey little creature.

Rule 8. If you need your human’s attention and they’re asleep, don’t give up until you’ve woken them & had your requirements met. Use any means necessary.

DrDisrespect · 02/07/2025 20:36

I went away for one night for a spa break for my birthday and came home to fur absolutely EVERYWHERE, grassy vomit on my kitchen floor and a dead hornet on my bedroom carpet. I dont know what katja has been doing but I hope she enjoyed it 🤷‍♀️

Esgaroth · 02/07/2025 20:47

Clearly had some other excellent cats round for a house party whilst you were away and didn't quite manage to get everything tidied up.

Rule 8. If you need your human’s attention and they’re asleep, don’t give up until you’ve woken them & had your requirements met. Use any means necessary.

This is important especially if you just want them to wake up for no apparent reason. Once you are sure they are awake and unable to go back to sleep, curl up on the bed and enjoy a peaceful nap.

Ahsheeit · 02/07/2025 21:39

Rule 9 - anything the human is doing that requires pen and paper means that you instantly sit on said paper.

JoanOgden · 02/07/2025 21:39

Rule 9. The best way to demonstrate your undying affection for your human is to vigorously attack one of their limbs.

FoodBagIsAtHome · 02/07/2025 21:48

This beautiful lady can be a bit bitey. But she is very much loved anyway.

I have a feeling that the hornet did not.

Is this the ponciest ever name for a bog-standard swimming pool changing room?

The cubicles could have thatched roofs to have a real 'village' vibe I suppose!

That's what I was imagining!
I think a pool I used to use had a 'changing village'.

Maybe it's because it's for both sexes and contains all the showers, hair dryers etc. There are lots of cubicles which are very roomy.

It's actually a lovely changing area, really warm and spacious.

And when you leave the Changing Village, there's the well-stocked cafe to visit.

Also, since we got our money back today, DD2 and I went hastily to the cafe to spend the £8.40. Win-win.

Rule 11- there were 2 nines- you have not had your dinner unless both cat slaves have been asked as second dinner might be forthcoming
Rule 12- it is good to be kind to animals as a live and frisky mouse at 5 am is so much more fun
Rule 13- You should want to be stroked and fussed until you suddenly do not then you should bite and claw as if you had been assaulted

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 02/07/2025 23:07

What's your cat's name @FoodBagIsAtHome?

I sniggered immoderately at that rule, Breadcat24.

Rule 14- at the very mention of a spot on treatment you should run like the wind or hide in an inaccessible place
Rule 15 - if you have lovely clean white fur you should sit on a grubby bin or squeeze under a greasy car

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 02/07/2025 23:21

Linney pays particular attention to that rule.

I knew Frankenstein wasn't a real cat. He's been sleeping on the cooling mat like a good boy. I don't think he left it all night and he's gone straight back up there after breakfast. Clearly he hasn't read the rule about not liking anything that your human buys you.
