I have very confused cats today. Due to a major RTC on my route home last night I was stuck engine off for ages & ages - dual carriageway with no ability to turn round or turn off for anyone, ambulances police & recovery vehicles squeezing between the cars stuck in the lanes. So when it got to almost 8pm (cat supper time) I called Annie & she went round & fed them. Eventually got home just before 9pm - 3 hours to do 15 miles (usually about 30 mins)! I then sat groaning for ages before going to bed a late as I was to achy to even think about food or sleep for a fair while.
Now I've got up early (back pain gave me little choice there), and took over 2 hours before heading to the shower. This confused the cats even more, as I never come down to feed them & get tea until after the shower normally.
Then got dressed in work clothes & put outdoor shoes on, but haven't left yet as that was enough for me for a bit.
Cats are creatures of habit, mine at least as much as most & possibly as indoor cats with a very regular routine even more so. So 3 changes to routine last night and about the same today already have left them a bit edgy, with Girlcat alternating between sticking to me like glue then running away for no apparent reason.
Will confuse them even more shortly, as I will be leaving and going to work once the traffic improves. In theory I could work from home, but a) far too hot here to even contemplate that & b) I may have a decent PC chair here, but I have my tailor made chair at work.
