This is a Public Service Announcement:

Pa Broon and I ate lots of the chicken last night.

Some chicken is reserved for the chicken curry which is on tonight's menu.

Some more chicken is reserved for the chicken salad which features on tomorrow's.

Chicken stock will then be prepared from the bones, and a delicious soup will result. This will be frozen.

Any cats wishing to partake of chicken will have to join Gizmo, Linney, Picard and Suzy, and form an orderly queue.

Yes, somehow that seems terribly unlikely.

I mean the orderly queue bit.

There would be nothing orderly about Linney, Gizmo, Picard and Suzy being in the same room.

Gizmo would see to that.

Kitty would like to point out that she was the first to ask after Gizmo, so please save her the second place in the queue.

Breadcat has chicken lined up for tea. She only like breast meat not thigh and so will be served before me and my husband. Oh and ideally slightly warm so any left overs need to be lightly warmed in the microwave before serving.
If cats had thumbs I would be either under the thumb or totally redundant.

Gizmo has just seen the picture of Kitty and says he'd like to meet her, with a view to marriage.

He says he's sick of Suzy messing him around.

Raven is not sure if she should have any chicken, so is weighing herself. She doesn't quite get how scales work although, to be fair, I also would prefer the display hidden from sight.

Is this because he still wants a stag do?

If there's anything that Agatha loves more than roast chicken, it's snoozing on a sun-warmed seat. I've just put down some scraps for her and she's totally ignored the treats.

Kitty says her days of getting frisky with toms are long gone & there’s no space for another cat in her eyrie. Or her current favourite bed.

He can send her presents if he wants though.

Talking of feisty, we were looking out of the window, having our chicken curry, and saw the following:

a) two women walked by and encountered Gizmo. One of them (foolishly IMO) bent down and picked him up.

b) the next thing that we saw was Gizmo being hastily dropped, and the woman who had picked him up was sucking her finger.

c) we concluded that a furious Gizmo had bitten her.

I mean, of all the cats in the close to pick up, they settle on Gizmo the Bitey Cat.

Would Linney have bitten the woman? Would Suzy? Would Picard?

No, no and thrice no. All three would have purred, cooperated, and expected treats.

But what kind of complete idiot picks up a cat they don’t know?

Well exactly.

That was really idiotic.

Since Kitty's not interested, Boris wanted me to mention that he will marry Gizmo if it means that he's first in line for chicken. He loves chicken and I haven't roasted one for a while, so he's thinking it sounds like a good idea. I should probably take pity on him and go and buy a chicken to roast, but it's meant to be about 30 degrees the next couple of days so the oven is staying firmly off.
