@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne Happy birthday to you!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 05/07/2025 16:50

Gizmo under the table, hoping for some steak.

As usual, exposing himself.

Happy birthday @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I hope the steak is tender and the chips are crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle!

Vixen says can she have some please?

The steak was excellent (like our many and various cats) especially because it was free.

Morrisons stuck four in my order, even though I'd ordered two.

I'm obviously going to hell because I didn't tell the driver.

It makes up for the time I had to talk to their incredibly rude customer service person about Pa Broon's missing tobacco

Happy birthday! Agatha would have snaffled some steak, but she prefers it raw and cut into suitably small bite sizes.... Wouldn't stop her begging for it, mind you, she just wouldn't eat it.

RumNotRun · 05/07/2025 19:31

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOneMy ghasts are flabbered! That is not the behaviour I would expect from such a fine upstanding member to the community 😁

I, on the other hand, admitted to the delivery man that he had given me someone else's tray. Admittedly that was because I didn't like most of what was there rather than my innate goodness!

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 06/07/2025 00:34

Gosh, if I'd had a whole tray that wasn't mine, even I would have mentioned it.

I'm so sick of Morrisons awful customer service. I've had to ring them quite often, and even just getting through takes 40 minutes. Hell just waiting, ten miles from home, for their static delivery van is a nightmare. They're usually late, and once, they were three hours late. Bastards.

Stuff that. And then, when you do get through to their shitey customer service, they're invariably rude to you.

I'm so glad that Tesco's delivers here now.
Rant over.
🤣

OK so the selection is a bit restricted compared to going to the shop, and navigating your way through the excuse for menus is a pain, but if you have Amazon Prime you can get your Morrisons orders through them.

No having to book about 4 days in advance to get a half decent slot that won't cost you a fortune either. You can get same day delivery with a 2 hour slot for free, no minimum order, and free delivery if you spend a decent amount.

Plus the items come in large tough paper bags, some lined with foil, which are recyclable and disposable or re-useable, and the chilled/frozen items have disposable/recyclable/re-useable ice packs so your ice cream doesn't melt. I love them, as I take them to work to make household cleaning packs up to help out the care leavers we support.

Agatha has decided to come in for a few hours; first time for a while.

She's had a nice wash and is now snoozing on my lap.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne we seem to share a birthday!!
I turned 52 yesterday!
DD made a very nice cake and I had a lovely day, hope you did too.

Pianoaholic · 06/07/2025 12:15

Oh, and Herbie wasn't very excited by the whole affair, until he could smell all the lovely chicken etc 'dine in' meals from m&s!
Couldn't be bothered to go out for dinner so this seemed a good option.

DD let him have a little bit of whipped cream before she put it on the cake though!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 06/07/2025 12:28

Happy Birthday yesterday @Pianoaholic 🥂🎂

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 06/07/2025 12:48

@Allergictoironing we can't get Morrisons via Amazon Prime to our postcode. I've tried.
We live in a remote village in Argyll.

Shopping has always been problematic. Until Tesco's decided to start home deliveries, we had to drive ten miles to the next village, which is where the Morrisons van would come and park up. Then everyone with a click & collect could get their shopping.

It was always difficult because the van was sometimes very, very late. There would be no point going home and coming back later because that's another hour wasted, plus 20 miles of petrol.

So thank you Tesco's. You've changed my life!

Gizmo will be round to eat the leftover chicken. It's his favourite.

A belated Happy Birthday! @Pianoaholic

I can't imagine living that rurally @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne I never knew click and collect van deliveries to out of the way locations was a thing. I live less than 10 minutes drive from my local Morrisons. Unfortunately it always looks a bit shabby and grubby, so I try and avoid it, but luckily their are loads of alternatives near by.

RumNotRun · 06/07/2025 15:28

Happy belated birthday @Pianoaholic

Happy belated birthday @Pianoaholic!

Kitty’s leading the cats in singing to you too. Although God knows what they sound like.
