Hi mumsnetters. I’ve been to view this gorgeous cat today. Pending a home check, I’ve reserved him and will be bringing him home next week! I’m in love.

You gave him a very loving home for his last years. Life is definitely about quality rather than quantity - you did the right thing to let him go.

Up feeding the baby and reading all your kind messages- in floods of tears but in a good way! I know I’ve done the right thing because that last morning with him was just so sad seeing how much he was struggling to move about and how he had no balance etc. But it doesn’t make it any less guilt filled or difficult and I still keep thinking of his last moments at the vets. I was on my own with a baby screaming for a feed strapped to me and the whole thing was just a bit traumatic. I really loved that cat- and it touches me how loved he was on here too!

He was very loved, it’s awful my queen Abby put down its heart failure last year, very hard at vets.
Maybe in time another cat will fill that void ?

So sorry to read this .
You did the right thing for your gorgeous Rodney , from the moment he came into your life to the moment he left it, and you did the kindest and bravest thing when he most needed it.
Thinking of you and your handsome boy xxx 💐
