My new pal!

Hi mumsnetters. I’ve been to view this gorgeous cat today. Pending a home check, I’ve reserved him and will be bringing him home next week! I’m in love.

Hi everyone! Sorry Rodney and I disappeared on you, we’ve had a lot going on… I’m 33 weeks pregnant! 🙈 Totally unexpected as I met someone and we had a (very happy) accident almost straight away so it’s been a whirlwind to say the least. He doesn’t live with us though so Rodney remains King of the house!

Rodney’s doing ok. He’s clearly had a troubled past as he’s still often very wary of approaching and likes to spend most
of his time hiding under my bed or behind the fridge! So day to day we sort of coexist in the same house but occasionally he’ll come out for a snuggle and sometimes I’ll coax him out and when I do, he’s in heaven and absolutely loves the attention!

When I was pregnant with DS our female cat (rescue ) was very pleased when I was on Mat Leave and could snuggle with her , even though I took up most of the sofa .
When DS was 8 weeks she was very judgey that I hadn't weaned and rehomed him.(DCat had raised 3 litters before we got her)
When I was pregnannt with DD she was Another one? You haven't re-homed the last one yet

She was very calm with the DC unfazed .
But liked leaping though the bannister gaps to scare DD then wandering off , cackling !

Rodders rules!

I know a lot of you followed my adventures with Rodney so I wanted to come on and share with you some very sad news. I had to say goodbye to Rodney today. He suddenly lost all feeling in one of his hind legs and his tail, couldn’t walk anymore and had no coordination. It was very hard to see but even more difficult to make the tragic
decision to say goodbye to him. I know I’ve done the right thing- the vet said he had extensive neurological damage and it was the kindest thing for him. But that didn’t stop it being horrendously traumatic and I can’t stop thinking about his little face as I left him for the last time. I’m very sad tonight and think I will be for some time. He was a weird little guy but he was my buddy and he got me through some difficult
times. Anyway, I know a lot of you thought a lot of him and thought you’d like to know. Goodnight Rodders, my wonderful little weirdo. I will miss you so very much 💔💔
