Hi mumsnetters. I’ve been to view this gorgeous cat today. Pending a home check, I’ve reserved him and will be bringing him home next week! I’m in love.

I love the Rodney pictures, he seems like he's enjoying his new safe home so much.

Rodney looks much more settled. Are you still having to coax him out of hiding places or is he happy to take up space now? He’s got lovely markings, especially his mittens.

Oh he is beautiful.

I am shocked that people would give away their pets for money- no matter how much.

But DH got his first ever cat (A burmese) because the woman who had him before changed her soft furnishings and he no longer 'went' with the colours. This was decades ago and he got him from a dedicated Burmese rescue place.

and Burmese are such beautiful cats, I’ve actually read shit on Facebook wanting a grey cat to match the furniture FFS they aren’t f*ing accessories my blood pressure is an danger level even thinking about it

To the pp who asked- he’s much happier to come out and say hello these days but still spends a lot of time in his own space. He’s definitely gradually getting more comfortable

I like to think the dark spot on his chest is his ‘brave banana’ badge for surviving on the streets. He’s one handsome fella.

I had a really important job interview on Zoom today. Rodney decided to choose that exact moment to go and explore upstairs for the very first time… all I could hear was him performing a bloody tap dance above my head. Quite a distraction! Good job I love him. Here he is

if you’ve finished with the fireplace - shove a bin liner with some newspaper scrunched up inside in the opening. It might deter him from another attempt and stops draught! (Just make a note that you’ve done it in a calendar/on a bag of coal/in the kindling and firefighter box, to remind you to remove it before use)
