Congratulations Grumpy! I read that thread, half in admiration at the poster's dedication to feline comfort, half in horror about the actual process.

Ollie has just appeared with his front legs and face soaking wet. It appears he's drinking out the neighbours pool BlushConfused
Because he doesn't have a bowl of water inside, a glass and access to the tap obviously

LostCats · 11/08/2022 10:59

But ‘wild drinking’ is more fun 😁

PeloAddict · 11/08/2022 11:29

Until he falls in the pool and sulks Grin

LostCats · 11/08/2022 11:36

True 😁

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 12/08/2022 15:44

Couldn't resist sharing the latest Cedric and Doris photo from FWK.
And yes - Doris really is much bigger than Cedric.

They really are the most luscious kittens

LostCats · 12/08/2022 16:59

Look at those floofy tummies!!
That’s a tummy trap if I’ve ever seen one!

PeloAddict · 12/08/2022 17:02

Ollie is poorly we think, and he's wedged himself in a hedge so I can't get to him. Fucks sake

Defiantlynot41 · 12/08/2022 17:07

Oh no Pelo. They can go a bit bonkers when it's really hot for a long time (one of ours was missing for 2 days and had relocated himself 2 streets away, gazing at a fishpond- he was never a wanderer)

Fingers crossed you can get him out of his bush

PeloAddict · 12/08/2022 17:41

We saw him but he's run off and won't let anyone near him

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 12/08/2022 17:41

Hi PeloAddict.

Hope you've managed to recover Ollie.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 12/08/2022 17:43

Sorry - cross posted with your last update.
Hope you manage to catch him and check him over soon.

PeloAddict · 12/08/2022 17:44

I fell asleep this afternoon, woke up and he wasn't inside. Found him cat loaf shape in a neighbours garden and he ran off from me (unusual)
He's now somewhere in a maze of the densest hedge ever, can't find him and no chance of getting hold so I've had to leave him be and hope he comes back

coastergirl · 12/08/2022 18:13

Hope Ollie is ok.

I'm pretty sure Walter didn't even notice the last heatwave but I think he's struggling this time.

Fluffycloudland77 · 12/08/2022 18:44

Hopefully he’ll show his face soon @PeloAddict

His face looked very pissed off as I was trying to climb in a thorn bush to get him. Maybe it's just the weather but it's not like him to run off from me Confused
He was sick this morning but that's not unusual

PeloAddict · 12/08/2022 20:53

He's home! Looking v spooked, I haven't managed to check him yet as I don't want to frighten him. He's having a big drink

Allergictoironing · 12/08/2022 21:00

Phew! I think someone may be grounded for tomorrow though.....

Poor baby, it's just too hot for them isn't it 😢

Hopefully he'll feel better after his drink and let you give him some love (and a thorough check over 😁)

PeloAddict · 12/08/2022 21:03

I can't put my finger on what it is. It could just be the heat or it could be one of Ollies weird illnesses
Handily he's picked the Saturday I'm working so would have to find someone to do a vet run Hmm if he hasn't perked up
Cooling mat on my lap. He's purring but mute

Papergirl1968 · 12/08/2022 22:02

I'm glad Ollie is back. Hope he's ok.

nettie434 · 13/08/2022 00:09

Relieved that Ollie is back PeloAddict. Must be really hard for cats in this heat. Some friends were telling me that cat body temperature is couple of degrees above ours so it's ok when it's 'ordinary' summer but we are so above normal UK temperatures that even their cat is beginning to feel to complain.

LostCats · 13/08/2022 08:42

How is he this morning PeloAddict?

PeloAddict · 13/08/2022 08:48

awake, he's had a wee/drink and food, claims I've ruined his life snd he wants to go out Angry
