Look who just dropped in for 30 seconds

Aww... he's come to visit his Mama 🥰

TheLongRider · 21/06/2022 08:14

It's been warm over here and Amos has been feeling the heat. He's due to back on Thursday to the shelter, some of our cats will be be very relieved.

Random thought - but does anyone think that the baby name threads are all derived from the litter tray cats.
To name but three, I've seen Amos, Basil and Cedric mentioned as baby names recently. (nobody has suggested Cheddar yet, but give them time...)

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 21/06/2022 08:48

And speaking of Cedric - a couple of recent pictures provided by FWK.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/06/2022 12:59

I honestly think naming children shouldn’t be official till their a year old and you’ve had time to think it through. Some of the names you see on here is going to get the kids tortured in senior school.

Our ndn kid has two names with a hyphen and is double barrelled so that’s going to be fun in reception when their learning how to write their names.

Supersimkin2 · 21/06/2022 13:43

Nippers get called anything round here, poor sods - London’s like autocorrect went horribly wrong at the Capital Registry office.

It’s always the middle classes who do their parental worst, but only with humans - cats get sensible names. Showing you what people secretly think about having children 😀

Supersimkin2 · 21/06/2022 13:53

It’s not just the British bourgeoisie either. There’s a new law throughout Denmark, home of Scandi chic, to stop you calling your child Anus.

MsOllie · 21/06/2022 15:44

A rare sighting of vampire cat braving the sun

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/06/2022 17:55

@TheLongRider no ones made an impassioned plea to keep Amos then?

TheLongRider · 21/06/2022 19:08

DH likes him - Nemo doesn't! Hobbes has lost weight through vigorous play with Amos. He's a delight of a kitten, very confident in his cattitude. He'll be a great cat when he grows up.

We're like a finishing school for kittens.

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/06/2022 19:29

😹 Nemo has already filled the position of unexpected kitten in family.

HouseofHolbein · 21/06/2022 19:40

I sat in bed to phone my mom. Now trapped under Gomez 🤣🤣

Supersimkin2 · 21/06/2022 20:28

Ooh how lovely, a Gomez sandwich.

I ache for Cedric.

Nemo has to have the final word, it’s only fair.

Prince and Havelock have met and both fled. Slightly relieved. Here HRH is being wary of a large lilac plant.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 21/06/2022 20:37

It's still very warm where we are.
Lenny has just been taking it easy today.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 22/06/2022 16:30

I'm vindicated 🤣

There's a baby name thread about Sybil today!

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/06/2022 19:38

Surely Puddy is safe. Especially as it would trigger memories of one who is very neglected & under fed.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 22/06/2022 20:15

I'm waiting for a load of baby girls to be called "Tarot" Grin

MsOllie · 22/06/2022 20:19

Ollie wasn't best impressed he had to go outside. The human was outside therefore he had to be

Supersimkin2 · 22/06/2022 21:57

Sybil! You’re a prophetic lot Grumpy (arf).

Prince has been chilling outside and came when called. Melting, me.

nettie434 · 22/06/2022 23:01

Ooh, you can write so elegantly, Supersimkin2.

Re the cat/baby names overlap, I remember that when I first started lurking here (a bit cheekily as I don't have a cat), HouseofHolbein posted about Morticia and her daughter. For some reason I thought that her daughter was called Morticia. I thought it was an unusual name but assumed there was a good reason for it 😳😳😳

HouseofHolbein · 22/06/2022 23:07

@nettie434 I was very tempted to name my eldest daughter Wednesday 🤣🤣 or Blue.

Ended up with Elizabeth but still think Wednesday would have suited her.

Supersimkin2 · 23/06/2022 09:47

Elizabeth is the best cos you can do so
much with it ie be a supermodel
and head of NATO simultaneously. Elegant, 10/10 for comms.

Whereas if she’d had a yooneek moniker it would be all computer says no and she’d be stuck in the reject pile from day1.

Prince had a fight with Ginger And White Bastard Last night. Sky-splitting scream and I flew out of bed - caught him - swept him back to the duvet n dreamies. He fell asleep smiling 😊

Allergictoironing · 23/06/2022 12:20

Who was winning Lana?

HouseofHolbein · 23/06/2022 13:16

Idiot sisters are exploring the garden. Wednesday got herself into next doors garden through a hole in the gate then couldn't work out how to get back through it.

MsOllie · 23/06/2022 13:22

Ollie is having a tantrum
He wants food. I offered food. The food is "wrong" so it's back in the fridge as it's warm. He now wants the food and is wailing

Note it's the same food he's been eating for years, I'm not trying to poison him Hmm
