Disgusting video footage of the West Ham player both kicking and slapping his bengal cat.

I'm not posting it because it's too distressing, but it has been posted online by the Express Newspaper.

There is also a change.org petition demanding that West Ham, the Police and the RSPCA take further action...please support and spread it!

@Aderyn21

He is losing sponsorships now. Should have happened yesterday, as soon as that video was seen, not after a public outcry! West Ham is my dad's team and I always had a soft spot for them because of it. No more though. They need to sack this cunt
Yes that’s the thing, they were all fine with it until they realised that the negative attention would hurt their pockets. Sounds cynical but it’s true.

Perfectly said.

This is capitalism at its finest, I believe they are still keeping him, he is just sitting the next game out.

Wasn't his son involved too? Can't watch the video as I'd find it too distressing

TheOnlyMrsMac · 09/02/2022 18:04

Very glad to see it is a main headline item on the BBC 6pm news.

Aderyn21 · 09/02/2022 18:15

And I'm going to say it again but where the fuck are social services? It's not enough to remove the cats, no child should be raised in this environment!

42isthemeaning · 09/02/2022 18:25

The RSPCA have removed the cats - it's on the BBC Website. Poor wee things. Sad

RunningFromInsanity · 09/02/2022 18:38

Vitality have removed their sponsorship of West Ham over their handling of the situation.
That’s a powerful move.

Adidas have removed their sponsorship of Zouma.

Aderyn21 · 09/02/2022 19:08

Well done Vitality. West Ham have conducted themselves shockingly over this.

TheOnlyMrsMac · 10/02/2022 14:08

The petition is nearing 300,000 - let's get it up some more.

MotherofTerriers · 10/02/2022 14:14

Loss of sponsorship may make the club act. Without that they will hope people will forget and they can just move on, business as usual

TheOnlyMrsMac · 10/02/2022 14:28

I agree with the pps. Vitality and Adidas are a good start, and well done to them. Other sponsors, 'leaving the club to deal with it internally' should be challenged about this on social media and via email if you can. Animal cruelty isn't an internal matter. Pet abuse, especially in front of children, is a form of DV/DA and often is only part of what is going on in that home.

ilovesooty · 10/02/2022 18:54

His brother has been suspended by his club Dagenham and Redbridge today.

WildFlowerBees · 11/02/2022 00:04

I saw the clip from this morning discussing this with the vet, an MP and Dermot O'Leary.

Dermot is such a wet blanket, basically saying he's paid his fine etc he's very sorry let's hope he's rehabilitated.

He's not sorry! He's just realised how fucked he now is. You have to be a certain type of person to one choose to be knowingly cruel to a defenceless animal and two then share it on social media as if it's a good thing.

People like that aren't sorry, I hope he feels the full weight of the law and is never allowed to have any animal near him again.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/02/2022 00:45

I haven't searched out the video and I really don't want to watch it .

But I was wondering where it originated from, if it was from a house CCTV or similar .

His brother was the one who filmed it Angry

Two rotten bastard apples in the same barrel .

Cleanmean · 11/02/2022 06:55

Absolutely horrifying. My kids and I used to follow him on all platforms, it was an immediate unfollow from all of us. The most shocking thing is the kids being there and holding the cat up. My kids are obsessed with our cat, I just cannot imagine them watching on whilst I kick my cat. I feel sorry for the cat and the kid.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/02/2022 07:20

Dermot O’Learys always been wet though, blandest man alive. Male version of Mavis off coronation street.

TheOnlyMrsMac · 11/02/2022 16:01

West Ham have confirmed that Zouma is available for the next match - against Leicester - and so it looks like Moyes is fully intending to play him again. I hope that West Ham's sponsors and both sets of fans take note and act accordingly.

At least his brother has been suspended by his club pending the outcome of the RSPCA/police investigation.

I'm beyond disgusted. I hope West Ham lose every remaining match this season. Dagenham and Redbridge evidently has some integrity. West Ham doesn't.
TheOnlyMrsMac · 11/02/2022 16:25

I understand what Dermot O'Leary was trying to say, about rehabilitation, education and role models, Zouma going to volunteer at Battersea and so on, but my question to Dermot would be, would he trust the Zouma brothers to look after his young son and pets, (presumably, as an animal lover, he has pets)? I know I wouldn't after watching that video. Let's not inflict the Zouma brothers on rescue animals.

thecatneuterer · 11/02/2022 18:04

Exactly. As someone who works in the rescue that's just round the corner from West Ham I can say that we definitely don't want him or his brother anywhere near us or our animals. I also can't understand what anyone thinks it would achieve. He obviously doesn't care about animal suffering or have any empathy, so how would it help to show him that he's not the only cat abuser in London? If he didn't feel empathy and compassion for his own cat, why would he feel it for others?

And I'm appalled that West Ham are continuing to play him.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/02/2022 18:08

Your not going to rehabilitate a human that quickly. He was brought up by his parents that this was ok. That’s why he and his brother do it.

His kids will be scumbags too. And his wife needs to get some backbone, you cannot let a man abuse in your house. Women need to fight back against this but maybe she’s a scum bag too 🤷🏻‍♀️

I emailed West Ham and suggested he made a donation, also suggested he made it in person - if he had the courage to meet Celia Hammond in person. I have a feeling he wouldn’t have the bottle for that one!
TheOnlyMrsMac · 12/02/2022 10:59

Petition update: nearing 325,000 on Change

ilovesooty · 12/02/2022 13:11

According to the RSPCA no arrangement has been made by West Ham regarding animal welfare courses and they haven't received any donation either.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 12/02/2022 15:56

Reading between the lines, Karen Brady has said Zouma is a very naughty boy but he's very sorry so that's ok then, and we'll keep him on the team.
I'm unimpressed..

Ditto. What she really means is that Zouma cost the club a fair bit of money and qualifying for the Champions League is more important than any moral considerations. I hope they lose every match from now until the end of the season.
