Disgusting video footage of the West Ham player both kicking and slapping his bengal cat.

I'm not posting it because it's too distressing, but it has been posted online by the Express Newspaper.

There is also a change.org petition demanding that West Ham, the Police and the RSPCA take further action...please support and spread it!

I want Zouma punished and made an example of, but even more important than that to me is the immediate welfare of the cats. It is being reported that they have been removed and have been examined by a vet - let's hope this is true.

Apparently Chris Packham has been in talks with the RSPCA but can’t say anymore for legal reasons. Hopefully something is/will be done.

Can’t stand the thought of an innocent life (animal/child or adult) being abused in this way when they can’t stand up for themselves, makes me so angry.

I've also heard that the cats have been removed and are being checked by vets. Good news if true.

RSPCA have confirmed the cats are in their care.

Sadly I don’t hold my breath that they won’t be returned.

Pleased to confirm that the RSPCA has issued a statement, confirming that the cats have been seen by a vet, are in RSPCA care and will remain so until the investigation is completed.

Exactly! People who do this are cowards and bullies, picking on animals/people who can’t defend themselves.

Glad RSPCA have the cats. Let’s hope they are not returned.

Very very disappointed in West Ham though - although I heard when he got injured on the pitch after the video was leaked, even West Ham fans shouted ‘ that’s how your cat felt’. (Apparently)

Great news that RSPCA stepped up and removed these cats, but they have done it because there is such a furore, they have many failures where animals are left in dire situations.
Many people on twitter stated they would stop their donations if they didn't take action. Can't help feeling that's the main reason.

This is very unfair to the RSPCA. Inspectors don't have the power to seize. They'd need the police to do that. And to hold onto them, they need a vet statement. They acted very quickly yesterday. Just because they don't give minute by minute updates to keep you entertained, doesn't mean nothings happening.

This is extremely unlikely. It's a decision made by magistrates who are loathe to make a lifetime ban on owning animals. Also, he might receive a ban but it does not mean that someone else in his household can't own an animal.

The cats weren’t seized. He voluntarily took them to the RSPCA for assessment. They will be returned after the investigations

The threshold for removing animals is extremely high. People kill pets and still don’t get banned. He will get a slap on the wrist. Welfare laws are woeful.

The French are up in arms about his cruelty to the cat too and there's talk of animal charities wanting him to be prosecuted there.

He is losing sponsorships now. Should have happened yesterday, as soon as that video was seen, not after a public outcry!
West Ham is my dad's team and I always had a soft spot for them because of it. No more though. They need to sack this cunt
