My poor cat has been a bit off colour for a few days , last night seemed to be having problems peeing so I made a appointment and took him to the vets.
The poor mite has a very full bladder the vet tried to massage his bladder and relive it but it didn't work so he has to be anesthetized and a catheter fitted .

They also need to run some blood test take sure his liver and kidneys are ok .

worried

So happy things are looking better. My friend had similar with her cat and unfortunately wasn't a good outcome. She is convinced it was flea treatment that started it (Bob Martin).

To people with 2 or more cats sharing a litter tray, how can you tell who pees when?

NewYearCalavicci · 25/03/2022 01:30

Hi @Ibizafun
Sorry to hear about your friends cat , I don't know what started the issue with my cat . There wasn't any triggers as far as I can tell.

As for knowing which cat pees when, it would be harder to tell by looking in the tray but it's not that obvious anyway until there is a real problem as they just keep on going so eventually over a day probably wee about the same amount.
But watching them is a much clearer give away.
The one having issues will use the tray , then go back within a short time ( sometimes just a minute later ) and try to wee again , also you can tell by the body language that they are struggling mine use to stretch his neck and tail out but I have heard of others twisting / hunching up.
