Flowers @Fluffycloudland77

Hand hold from here, it's been very tough for both of you over the last few years.

Well what your surgeon said is kind of reassuring, Notmycat - I have to admit I'm terrified too.
My neurosurgeon said he thought I was justified in waiting till the next MRI, but when I saw him I had only had one seizure that I know of. I've had maybe another five since in the last few weeks. Which doesn't necessarily mean it's growing. It can just be affecting the neurons or something. I'm still hoping the anti epilepsy meds will calm things down.
Don't worry, Lana, I was straight on to Google when the appointment came through, checking out his credentials!
Would DH opt for surgery, Fluffy? Given the choice?

Fluffycloudland77 · 18/11/2021 14:01

He’s trying to have surgery but the surgeons aren’t keen. Apart from cardiology who were very sanguine when the anaesthetist pointed out he’d peg it in recovery.

It’s not been great @TheLongRider. Thank you.

I’ll stop moaning. I could fill a thread in a week.

I’ve got Puddy some pate in tins, she’s gone off gourmet in tins multipacks so I’m trying melting heart variety and Lidl.

Sending sympathy for your losses fluffycloudland77 & coastergirl. Hope your temperature comes down soon and that you feel better soon.

I love Cap'n and Paws' respective cream and chicken request faces.

I am so sorry about the seizures, Papergirl1968. I think you said you would next see your consultant in February? By then, you will definitely have had enough time to think through the options. Do you have one of those epilepsy bracelets? They might help if you are taken unawares.

NotMyCat · 19/11/2021 01:15

Bracelet is a good idea, I also have medical id filled out on my iPhone as well as all my conditions and medication in a notes section so I can just show the doctor rather than reading it all out

People are generally helpful, I thought I was going to have a fit as I got an aura so walked into a bookshop and he asked if he should let me wake up or ring 999 and looked after my bag for me. Helpful chap, dusting the books around me quietly and no flapping. Probably a cat person Wink

Cannot stress the ease of the medical ID on the phone enough! I had a seizure in M&S a couple of years ago and they were able to call DH straight away. It also gave the ambulance crew something to work with seeing as I couldn't even remember where I live 😁

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 19/11/2021 08:39

I got up at about four this morning to discover these at the foot of the bed. Terrible photo I'm afraid (it was dark!)

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/11/2021 08:47

Their maximising the space on the bed aren’t they?

Puddys been bullying dh to get in our room at night when he gets up at 3am to use the bathroom. Shameless purring and dashing in. I was awake enough to realise I needed to pretend I was asleep.

He’s told her it’s a one way ticket to being shut in the kitchen overnight.

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 19/11/2021 08:54

They look comfy, @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats.

NotMyCat · 19/11/2021 10:10

No paws it's fine. Not like those plates were clean...

Papergirl1968 · 19/11/2021 10:18

Thanks, guys. Will definitely look into getting one of the bracelets.
Love that duvet cover, Grumpy.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 19/11/2021 10:29

Love that duvet cover
Cheers - You can never have too many hedgepigs Grin.

Still trying to work out how Basil had managed to get under the covers so neatly. He normally sleeps on the bed.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/11/2021 10:37

Basils just gifted & talented. He’s a professional cat.

Asbo got himself into a folded up duvet on a chair once, I was convinced he’d jumped out the window and run off to die so I was about to ring dh in tears when I checked.

NotMyCat · 19/11/2021 13:25

Ollie would like me to stop disturbing him

Bet you had nice warm feet doing circular worrying about nothing at 3am Grumpy.

Is having a cat a marker for fits?! I too have seizures, rare and infrequent. Non fatal. No longer stress me out, cos recovered so many times. Paper, strongly seconding the iPhone info and setting up the text-ambulance request which means you can press send when you can’t speak.

Reassuring, is backup.

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 19/11/2021 14:41

Ollie would like me to stop disturbing him
Of course he would! He's nice and comfy.
NotMyCat · 20/11/2021 11:27

I love this Instagram account
Twiggy is their new foster but this is Balam and I just love him Grin (you need volume)

Supersimkin2 · 20/11/2021 13:30

Balam's not shy! A hard like from me.

Is he a Bengal?

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/11/2021 13:35

No he’s not a Bengal. He’s one of the orientals, obviously, but I don’t know which breed.

When I find out I’ll be avoiding it 😂

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/11/2021 13:37

Just has probably got one. It’s only a matter of time if she hasn’t.

NotMyCat · 20/11/2021 13:40

Twiggy is the best, she's a new foster she took in who manages to grumble and be all loving at the same time

AlfonsoTheUnrepentant · 20/11/2021 13:46

What a great Instagram account. I love Balam and Chaska! Twiggy is a cutie, too, but I have a weakness for Orientals.

Supersimkin2 · 20/11/2021 15:11

They're just lovely. When I was in Mexico in the 80s we used to feed street cats and dogs - the locals came out to laff and point at the daft white galz. We laffed along with them and stuck stoutly to our Eccentric Englishwomen Abroad schtick.

You could cope admirably with Balam, @Fluffy. And see how he disciplines the Mexican DH - just a hint.

couchparsnip · 20/11/2021 17:27

Hello. Can I join the thread? I have 4 cats. One is 9 and the other three are 4 months old.
Old cat is not best pleased with us for taking in the kittens but she's getting there! She gave one a nose boop yesterday and then remembered she hates them and hissed. Lol.
