I've made Mr Cat sad. Sad

I bribed the poor innocent lamb with lickylix (that got him suspicious) burritoed him (took three of us plus my large tummy) and wedged him head first into the carrier. Took less time than expected, so he has to stay in there for an hour until we leave for the vet. Poor poppet.

He’s not going to fall for that again is he?

YesItsMeIDontCare · 06/01/2022 18:35

How is MrCat now @Dilbertian?

MaybeHeIsMyCat · 06/01/2022 19:13

I have the funniest video to upload Grin

Waitrose had some lovely poached salmon fillets on offer today, so I got a pack.

I offered a bit to Girlcat who sniffed at it, glared at me and stalked off to bed. Looks like I'm eating poached salmon for lunch tomorrow as well as dinner tonight!

Dilbertian · 06/01/2022 21:56

@YesItsMeIDontCare

How is MrCat now *@Dilbertian*?
Not sure he's forgiven me yet.

He's bigger than we thought: 6.6kg. That's the right weight for him and he's generally healthy. But he has to have at least one tooth extracted Sad MrCat doesn't appear to be in pain - the tooth is probably dead - so vet says it needs to be done but is not urgent. He's due his jabs by 1April, and the vet said he was happy to do the jabs at the follow-up 1 week after the tooth extraction. So I'm going to try and schedule it for mid-Feb - mid-March.

It was wonderful to see the vet handling MrCat. I learned so much, and MrCat was such a good boy. Such a shame he's going to lose his demonic yawn.

Have you tried putting him in backwards? If DH tries to put Ivy in "frontwards" she will scratch and claw and bite. But if I pop her gently in backwards she is absolutely fine.
MaybeHeIsMyCat · 06/01/2022 22:25

Yeah I always do backwards. You basically have one attempt or that's it Grin

Supersimkin2 · 06/01/2022 23:51

We’ve all been there Grin

Good news about Mr’s fantastic weight. Love a big cat, me.

MaybeHeIsMyCat · 07/01/2022 00:35

Paws is spark out on my bed. Cold and hailstones outside

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/01/2022 15:27

Excellent business opportunity for you @TheLongRider, you can make an Irish version and test it on your cats “No moggies hurt during testing”.

I’ve ordered the catnip dreamies off wilko as I don’t have a hope in hell of going round a supermarket this month.

Puddy could only dream of being 6.6 kg @Dilbertian. Asbo cat was 6.5kg on a bad day but that was his winter fur despite what relatives would tell you “oh my god look how big he’s got!” “It’s his winter fur, it makes him look bigger”.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 07/01/2022 15:38

Leroy's got his winter fur. That's his excuse and he's sticking to it 🤪

6.6kg at the past weigh in 🙈

Supersimkin2 · 07/01/2022 17:44

Cats of Substance are the best.

Capns a surprisingly petite 5 kg but he’s got big fur.

Dilbertian · 07/01/2022 18:28

He's certainly substantial Grin So glad he's not aggressive with it! But I have not forgiven. He flinches from me and runs away if I approach, and has abandoned his sleeping place on my chest. (Can't say I'm entirely upset by the last.)

SpookyScarySkeletons · 07/01/2022 18:53

It's happy gotcha day for Ivy! 4 years of this adorable love bug. Don't know what we would do without her ❤️❤️❤️

Supersimkin2 · 07/01/2022 20:33

Happy Gotcha Day Beautiful Ivy!! She is gorgeous.

MaybeHeIsMyCat · 07/01/2022 20:50

Paws would say happy gotcha day but he's currently in a mood Grin

Oh I just can't believe how teeny tiny she was!! It's making me all kitten broody!
coastergirl · 07/01/2022 21:22

Uh oh. What's up with Paws?

Happy gotcha day Ivy. So beautiful. How is she now?

I've made an error. Tesco were very low on wet food, so I couldn't get his usual. Ended up getting a bumper box of Felix gravy lovers. Well...safe to say he loves it. He usually has free access to dry food and one pouch at night, seems happy (doesn't always eat it all) and the vet says he's the perfect weight. The last 3 days he's had an extra pouch a day. He's going to be a chunk!

SpookyScarySkeletons · 07/01/2022 21:22

Oops @MaybeHeIsMyCat what have you done?? Looks serious for Paws to be in such a grump.

MaybeHeIsMyCat · 07/01/2022 21:24

He couldn't find the catnip Grin

SpookyScarySkeletons · 07/01/2022 21:27

@coastergirl yeah she seems to be fixed thanks! It only took two courses of steroids and three courses of antibiotics!! But she seems to be leaving her bum alone and all looks normal again.

On the subject of food I've really got to start measuring their biscuits out, they are both grazers and DH fills their bowls every morning but he is definitely over filling as they are both certainly on the chunky side! Might have to switch to the light food the next time I get a big bag.
