It’s lovely to be able to put a face to the name, Swampy! Funny how most of us would recognise each other’s cats if we happened to bump into each other, but not their hoomans. Grin

Papergirl1968 · 20/08/2021 06:02

If we happened to bump into them, I mean!

Oldraver · 20/08/2021 09:30

Ooh yes Alpacas have to be CNN in a herd so one won't do at all. There used to be not far from me and I loved watching for my girlies from the bus

This is my outdoor herd (one sadly got binned last week) I have an indoor herd as well

My indoor herd. OH bought me a lovely Steiff, though technically he's a camel

What everyone said.

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/08/2021 13:37

Puddy would say she’s under-snacked. I go to bed before dh and she lies against him facing the dreamie drawer and looks pointedly from dh to the drawer until he does the right thing while dh has a snack “moms gone to bed break the snacks open”.

Supersimkin2 · 20/08/2021 13:50

Can't wait to recover and take an alpaca for a walk with my LT mates.

We should have a meetup, each issued with a packet of Dreamies for discussion purposes and a huge alpaca.

Leroy could come and, leading DS, herd us and the alpacas forward on our epic journey.

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 20/08/2021 13:51

In tears at the moment - the vet just called to say that Ashycat's ashes are ready for collection. I thought I was doing alright (missing her, but not crying any more).

I can't adopt a little furry plaster to help me heal because I am due to move shortly and it wouldn't be fair to uproot a cat twice in a few weeks (although I have seen a chonky boi on Celia Hammond).

Thanks God it's Friday.

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/08/2021 13:58

It hits you hard doesn’t it?.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 20/08/2021 15:00

It's a bit like losing them all over again isn't it. Sending you love MrsAshwell 💐

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 20/08/2021 15:02

It does, Fluffy. I still speak to her, hear her moving and there's a case of her special wet food in the kitchen. The local stray is enjoying her dried food (her £14 per bag dry food).

I am going to have to keep myself together at the vets this evening. That's probably the only good thing about masks - it's less obvious I am crying.

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 20/08/2021 15:03

That's exactly how it feels @YesItsMeIDontCare

YesItsMeIDontCare · 20/08/2021 15:08

Nobody will mind you crying. Nobody at all. Go easy on yourself. x.

TheSilveryPussycat · 20/08/2021 15:47

Have a cry. Vets and vet staff understand.

Defiantly41 · 20/08/2021 15:54

Thanks MrsAshwell.

Am definitely up for an alpaca trip! There've been a few on the new life in the country type programmes lately and they are super cute.

And I don't know exactly what is in these but my cats will even bypass Dreamies to get to these ...

I'm up for the Alpaca Excursion, but I don't share Super's confidence in Leroy's herding skills 😁

Justonedayatatime11 · 20/08/2021 16:57

Alpaca excursion would be amazing. Charlie wants to know if he can come too

YetAnotherSpartacus · 20/08/2021 17:22

Awwww Charlie! He’d be scared, surely:). So glad he is getting better.

AlfonsoTheMango · 20/08/2021 18:13

How's Charlie doing? His eyes still look a bit swollen.

coastergirl · 20/08/2021 19:20

Alpaca walking sounds excellent, but I fear that if I met Charlie I wouldn't be able to resist kidnapping him.

Justonedayatatime11 · 20/08/2021 19:38

Million times better thank you @AlfonsoTheMango. It's definitely taking a while for the swelling in his face to go down, but he's eating, drinking, purring and yesterday bit me so hard I thought he'd gone through my thumb Hmm. I don't think he'd tolerate alpaca walking, he's basically a big wimp

AlfonsoTheMango · 20/08/2021 20:20

@Justonedayatatime11 - Glad to hear Bonnie Prince Charlie is feeling better but why did he bite you?

Justonedayatatime11 · 20/08/2021 20:25

@AlfonsoTheMango he likes to chew on fingers and thumbs. He's very very gentle, he just went a bit far on my thumb!

AlfonsoTheMango · 20/08/2021 20:35

Ah, I see. It wasn't a malicious bite; he just doesn't know his own strength.

Supersimkin2 · 20/08/2021 21:48

Alpaca sticking plaster for the trip Grin

Sorry all. Massively relieved about the big lad And get well soon &@Justonedayatatime11
