That's amazing though! And you know cats can't be impressed straight away. That would look too eager. They'll like it when you take it away.

Papergirl1968 · 30/10/2020 22:20

Fine, thanks, Swampy. Was just induction today. The real work starts tomorrow!
How are you getting on?
(Of course they’ll ignore it. If it was something you didn’t want them to have they wouldn’t leave it alone!)

Supersimkin2 · 31/10/2020 07:50

That's amazeballs Swampy. The Xmas market awaits.

Well done @Papergirl1968. I always find those hanging about times when a suit drones on re company policy more stressful than getting stuck in.

AArgh have to run the shop again today. Whoever said charity shops were easy... three managers in two years have been made so ill from overwork they can't work. Not in this shop - but the poor bloody managers who are still standing are being sent all over town to cover for the ones the charity has broken.

Got home last night, fell asleep on sofa. Cap'n noted I was dropping off and helpfully slashed the upholstery so loudly I woke up, whence he hassled me to refresh his bowl, then hassled me bossily to bed, plumy tail aloft. On me now, grunty purring.

swampytiggaa · 31/10/2020 08:48

@Supersimkin2 unsurprisingly I haven’t been replaced at the charity shop yet. Poor manager is working 6 day weeks to cover. Pretty sure they are dragging their feet to save money...

Papergirl1968 · 31/10/2020 08:55

I came home starving, Lana, and polished off egg on toast followed by a couple of croissants.
Matt joined me on the sofa and a furry paw shot out and helped itself to part of my croissant! Shock

Supersimkin2 · 31/10/2020 09:30

Saucy paws!!! I love it when they do that. Cap'n had part of my ham roll then got the arse with me cos the next course was chocolate biscuit, which he won't touch. He tried crisps too, and was annoyed cos he didn't get the point of them either.

Papergirl1968 · 31/10/2020 10:52

I have to put extra ham on the plate for the cats and dog!

TheSilveryPussycat · 31/10/2020 20:54

DD's DCat wishes you all a happy Halloween

Papergirl1968 · 31/10/2020 22:45

Aww, what a lovely cat, Silvery. 🎃
I think the devil has got into Matt. He marched up to the dog, who was minding her own business snoozing away next to me on the sofa, and slapped her across the face.
Dog just looked Confused

Supersimkin2 · 01/11/2020 10:05

Matt can do no wrong - I am wailing with laffs Grin, sorry. He is trying to protect you all from the canine menace, is all. Bad kitten Grin

Surely TLT's peak fussy eater @TheSilveryPussycat?

Papergirl1968 · 01/11/2020 10:29

Matt has thrown up a few times lately, including across my freshly changed bed, so is in the doghouse for that too! I would have every sympathy if he was poorly but undigested cat food leads me to believe he has eaten too much too quickly Envy (not envy!)

QueenPaws · 01/11/2020 13:30

Open up hooman

You need a catflap Queen!

Papergirl1968 · 01/11/2020 14:11

Paws! Grin

QueenPaws · 01/11/2020 14:33

He's had a head rub and some lunch Grin

coastergirl · 01/11/2020 21:53

Not easy to see, but I just glanced to the side of me on the sofa and found this. Criss-cross cats! Lovely.

Almost criminally sweet, Paws and the Lovely Lads.

swampytiggaa · 02/11/2020 10:53

@Papergirl1968 will lockdown affect your shop at all? Hope you are still able to work 🙂

Sons girlfriend aka my unwelcome visitor 😂😂 had just got a job in Morrisons cafe. Which won’t be open now for the duration ☹️ Boychild had finally got shifts sorted at macdonalds - they hadn’t given him any since he recovered from the broken arm he broke there 😡 but not sure if they will still happen now they are going to takeaway.

Girlchild is home this week as college decided to close for an extra week. Not sure if she’s back next week. I’ve pimped her out to babysit a friends son today tho as he has an inset day and friend has training to do at work.

Papergirl1968 · 02/11/2020 11:58

I’ll find out when I go later Swampy, but I fully expect it to close. Great timing! You should be ok?
How did your son break his arm at Maccies? Did he slip on some fries? Trip on a burger? Slide on a McFlurry? My imagination is going into overdrive!
Lana, I guess your charity shop will be closing too?

swampytiggaa · 02/11/2020 12:43

Oh shit @Papergirl1968 😢 so sorry.

Boychild slipped after they had mopped the floor at the end of the shift.

Papergirl1968 · 02/11/2020 15:36

Oh no, I hope he still got paid while off sick. Maccies are supposed to be quite good to work for.

swampytiggaa · 02/11/2020 16:07

He got paid whilst off sick but apparently they didn’t realise he wanted shifts when he took his fit note in. So he hasn’t been paid for a while.

Supersimkin2 · 02/11/2020 16:31

Last trading day at charity shop tomorrow. Two more managers have had nervy Bs so guess who is staggering in to our biggest retail emporium to clear the floor-to-ceiling chamber of donations that still haven't been sorted from Lockdown 1.

They called me this am but Cap'n and I were in bed and I refused to move.

@swampytiggaa poor Boychild! His manager has moral duty to put him first on the shift list, surely.

Most places in London shut down on Sunday. Everyone's exasperated now and the general mood is grumpy and panicked, much more so than last time.

Massive, tetchy queue in Tesco.

swampytiggaa · 02/11/2020 16:36

I’ve just offered to be till trained at Morrisons. We’ve not really been hit yet but if we are we will be fucked. Barely any icu beds in the county and obviously no one to staff the nightingale in Exeter. Cases are still low but are rising at an alarming rate. Gah.
