Well managed so far this am. Cat feeding last night was fine, though had to do 3 trips (wet, water & dry) rather than 1. Tea making no problem, proper cooking just won't happen. I can use the hand on my dominant side, just not allowed to move the shoulder so hand is only at my belly button. Packing away can be done spread over time.

DSis lives close, but works shifts plus I think she's done plenty for me already. I will be able to call on her if absolutely necessary but will avoid if poss.

Next big test is it's rubbish day tomorrow, so full litter change day today!

YesItsMeIDontCare · 12/10/2020 10:22

Sounds like it's good news on the fixing then if it's the longer recovery time Allergic?

Leroy sends a gentle(ish) nose-boop•

Allergictoironing · 12/10/2020 10:58

Was going to be 2 weeks for no repair just cushioning insert, and 6 weeks for full repair. Now 4 weeks, as partial repair and insert. Sadly, consultant is now talking about scanning the other shoulder and possibly having to work on that one at a later date!

Pressure dressing now off, more comfortable. Boycat has finally unglued himself from my side to go kip upstairs.

QueenOllie · 12/10/2020 10:59

Paws would send a hug but he's too manly for that. Ollie sends lots of kisses and head bops

Paws found the food bowl empty today and came to find me with a head tilt like "empty hooman. Food?"

Tsk! Standards are slipping, Queen. I hope you rectified the problem immediately.

QueenOllie · 13/10/2020 14:36

Ollie would like to announce he has had his hooman FIVE whole years today

🥰HAPPY HOMiNG DAY OLLiE!!!🥰

Leroy sends a congratulatory nose-boop• from a fellow black rescue.

nettie434 · 13/10/2020 16:00

Happy Homing Day Ollie! Here's to many more. Bit early for Wine but you are worth it!

QueenOllie · 13/10/2020 16:06

He doesn't care one bit and is drooling on the bedding still. He's obsessed with it!

OP posts:
Supersimkin2 · 13/10/2020 16:12

That would be the bed he's not allowed on.

Star HAPPY HOMING DAY YOU BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE Star

Massive love from me and Cap'n V, also clasping the duvet and snoring.

QueenOllie · 13/10/2020 16:24

Paws has been in EIGHT times. I eventually shut the window as it's cold and found him looking in sadly. So now I'm sat here with the window open and a blanket on Hmm

Grin Fresh air's very healthy. Grin

YetAnotherSpartacus · 14/10/2020 12:42

Is it really only FIVE happy years?
Ollie and Queen!

QueenOllie · 14/10/2020 13:07

Ollie says it feels longer and he would like a NEW hooman now please
Paws has been in, accepted a head rub and come to tell me there is no food in the bowl and could he have some. NOW Hmm

OP posts:
YetAnotherSpartacus · 14/10/2020 13:19

Ollie could have any NEW hooman he wants - but remember I'm at the front of the queue.

Supersimkin2 · 14/10/2020 14:36

Oliver Queen - what a frightful liar you are Grin

Paws is getting rather keen on cuddles...

Allergictoironing · 14/10/2020 15:16

I am finally free of velcrocat for around half the time (including my sleeping hours), he seems to have realised I don't intend to desert him again. We have worked out ways round Boycat's bed cuddles & Girlcat's sofa cuddles. Litter change took ages on Monday night but was done fine, along with rubbish. I am waiting for a cheap sling to arrive from Amazon today so i can wear that in the shower & not risk forgetting I must NOT move the shoulder.

Got follow up at orthopedic clinic on Monday, which DSis is able to take me to, and physio telephone appt on Wednesday. Little pain in the actual shoulder even when doing my exercises, though the Deltoid muscle is complaining - probably at being properly connected for the first time for years!

YesItsMeIDontCare · 14/10/2020 15:55

Leroy has a new box and is VERY happy with his little furry life.

Keep up your exercises Allergic - very important. Glad you're managing stuff though 👍🏻

Ollie we ALL know you would never give up your hooman!

QueenOllie · 14/10/2020 16:07

Ollie is jealous of the box. Mean mama recycled his fave one

Sounds as if you are doing well Allergic - long may your recovery continue. Paws is so brave and vulnerable at the same time. He is lucky to have you QueenOllie (as is Ollie, but he is much more demonstrative). Leroy looks very happy in his box, Yesitsmeidontcare.

Supersimkin2 · 14/10/2020 18:58

Leroy is Container King of the UK. He is frankly smug @YesItsMeIDontCare.

Mega well done @Allergictoironing, power through the pain, you poor thing, what a marathon. Kitty nursing evidently of finest quality.

Queen Ollie, he is always your darling.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 14/10/2020 19:32

Leroy is Container King of the UK.

But of course! "Leroy" from "le Roi"! 😁

Allergictoironing · 14/10/2020 19:56

Best 5 years of Ollie's life by a long way Smile. Even if his mama DID recycle his bestest box!

Much less pain than I expected; the absolutely worst thing is that with my arm clamped to my ribs 100% of the time, I'm getting all sweaty & itchy there. Insertion of a paper towel has helped, and cheap mesh sling has just arrived so a shower tomorrow (as opposed to flannel bathing) will make my day.

Checked in on Boycat when I went up to the loo recently - he demanded bed cuddle no 3 of the day bless him Star

Supersimkin2 · 14/10/2020 22:44

Bless SRN Boycat :)

Me and Cap'n V have been together 9 months today. I bought an iphone to celebrate/finally post a pic of the precious ginger prince. The iphone doesn't work & The Ruler of My Heart has had an anal prolapse Grin Grin

I've missed pics of Cap'n V, nice to see them again Smile.

Anal prolapse not good though, has the V.E.T. seen him?
