coastergirl can you drop me a pm please?

Papergirl1968 · 29/11/2020 22:24

I wish Christmas was over. It’s too outing to say why but this year it is just something to be endured here.

coastergirl · 29/11/2020 22:55

@Justonedayatatime11

coastergirl can you drop me a pm please?

I can certainly try! I use the app but have occasionally gone on the main site when I've received a pm. I'll give it a go. Don't have a laptop or computer at home. It's going to be fun trying to do the home learning on my boy's tablet!

coastergirl · 29/11/2020 22:58

@Papergirl1968 I hope you're ok. I could happily skip Christmas and go straight to going back to work in January.

Papergirl1968 · 29/11/2020 23:30

Yes, I’m ok thanks, Coaster. Just lots of family crap has really taken its toll these last few months, plus I was the victim of domestic abuse a few weeks ago, not for the first time but this time it’s really got to me, and also I’ve been absolutely broke this year.
Back to work this week after lockdown so hopefully the pennies will roll in, and it will be a distraction.
I’m sorry you are going through such a hard time too. Be kind to yourself.

QueenPaws · 29/11/2020 23:34

I'm with Ollie and paws for Christmas Smile
My plan is a load of delicious, totally unhealthy food, probably the entire series of Bones, long baths and naps

Ollie just made a "going to be sick" noise, paws shot on top of the worktop and has eyes on stalks looking at him

Supersimkin2 · 29/11/2020 23:37

Christ how awful for you both, and everyone else on the thread, human and feline, who is fire-fighting on all fronts, including Darcy. The best that can be said of 2020's Crimbles Day is that it's one day nearer 2021 and the vaccine.

@coastergirl if you spend the day alone, I promise it's not that bad. I've done it; the art of solitude is a lot easier with all that good telly, and you must cook yourself & Walt a full Xmas dinner with all the trimmings. Food comes in handy when the hordes return, but you get first go.

No to: fighting, or moaning, family tension; Having to Be Polite; worse, Fake Cheer; some bastard so-called family stealing last roastie.

Yes to: remote control ownership; pristine box of chocs winking at you, and you alone; vast glass of wine in peace; little snory sofa nap; cold roasties.

My colleague at the charity has had hysterics & resigned ten minutes ago. I am due in tomorrow at 9. On the upside, my birthday is 23rd Dec, so that was fucked too, but it looks like I'll be at work. Believe me, that counts as a win for 2020.

QueenPaws · 29/11/2020 23:48

Here's my random food shop list for Christmas Grin

Supersimkin2 · 30/11/2020 00:00

Oven-baked snacks!!!!!!

Your list is the best literature I've read all year.

M&S have got their cult chicken doughnuts in next door. Just saying.

AlwaysLatte · 30/11/2020 00:02

Is this about cat treats? My Dad's cats love Dreamies but go even crazier for Sainsbury own brand car treats with cat nip (in green packet).

Allergictoironing · 30/11/2020 00:05

Similar list for me, except a lot less healthy with more oven baked party food. Double portion of Asda pork, sage & onion stuffing balls. Just me & the kittles Xmas Day, but DSis & nephew No. 4 round Boxing day so even more snacks & party foods.

Oh, and I don't see chocolate on that list? Thought that was mandatory at XMas! Grin

Papergirl1968 · 30/11/2020 00:06

I had these from M&S the other day - can highly recommend.Smile

Not really - more general random chat, about the 6th thread of it. Grin

But nothing wrong with talking about cat treats, as long as we get to see pics of yours/your Dad's.

QueenPaws · 30/11/2020 00:09

@Allergictoironing don't worry, separate order from slatterys WinkGrin who do the best chocolate pretzels ever

Justonedayatatime11 · 30/11/2020 08:01

Darcy is back to the vet this morning, her breathing isn't good Sad

Supersimkin2 · 30/11/2020 09:13

Good luck, thinking of you Just.

Papergirl1968 · 30/11/2020 10:18

Same here, Just. Let us know.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 30/11/2020 10:53

Caught up 😱 ... and I think everyone needs a (socially distanced) hug! So

(((HUG)))

to anyone who feels they need one.

@AlwaysLatte - Welcome! It can be about cat treats, it's all things cat really. I have a lad called Leroy who has a personal preference for Felix Goody Bag treats.

coastergirl · 30/11/2020 12:32

Love to you and Darcy just

Justonedayatatime11 · 30/11/2020 14:22

She is, amazingly, home again. I really didn't expect that! Temp back to normal, she's actually gained a tiny amount of weight. I'm gobsmacked, especially given that she's not really eating. Anyway, she had swabs taken this morning to test for calicivirus so they should be back in a week or so. She's certainly not herself, but I'm glad she's still here

Fluffycloudland77 · 30/11/2020 14:38

What can they do for calcivirus?.

Justonedayatatime11 · 30/11/2020 14:48

Depends how bad it is. My little white cat had it, ended up with all her teeth removed and a daily steroid and she's now a happy healthy little menace!

AlwaysLatte · 30/11/2020 15:50

@Allergictoironing
😃
Here you go - my Dad's two cats, Nut and Bolt.

While I'm here, this is Betsy, who lives somewhere near me. She comes to visit most days. We don't feed her but she loves a tickle under the chin!

I just found Ollie perched on the windowsill licking up dirty rain water Confused
He never does that. Paws is teaching him how to be a cat obviously...
