Yikes, good luck Queen. My littlest is absolutely full of a cold and miserable. Just received a text from school saying biggest has to isolate until 10th December due to a case in his bubble. This is our FIFTH lot of isolation between us. I'm done.

TheLongRider · 28/11/2020 12:09

Good luck Queen. I hope Ollie gives you healing purrs.

QueenPaws · 28/11/2020 12:15

Test done, throat one was fine, nose one felt like she was digging to find my brain and it hurt! Ollie has retired back to bed

Supersimkin2 · 28/11/2020 18:40

Good luck @QueenPaws love. You're in safe hands, you've done exactly the right thing.

QueenPaws · 29/11/2020 10:20

Making sure the human is awake and giving us breakfast
Ollie came in and shouted and shouted so I went to give him food and found paws stood at the cupboard "no food in bowl human. Fix it" Grin

Brothers in arms Grin your arms.

Cap'n ate so much reduced M&S chicken this am that when he demanded Second Breakfast his mouth was too full to get the mew out.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/11/2020 11:09

How do you feel Queen?

QueenPaws · 29/11/2020 11:21

@Fluffycloudland77 grim. It's like my throat feels constantly dry/scratchy no matter how much I drink. Coughing and can't really smell anything, everything smells musty Confused

TheLongRider · 29/11/2020 11:29

You've got a good dose of a bug alright. Have you commandeered Ollie's bed?

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/11/2020 11:29

Hopefully you’ve only had a very small dose of it.

QueenPaws · 29/11/2020 11:32

I'm in the comfy chair with Ollie firmly on my lap. If I try and move he glares at me!
I'm 99% sure it isn't covid but god knows what it is

QueenPaws · 29/11/2020 17:35

Half an eye on me. Went for a nap, still feel grotty

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/11/2020 17:49

Do they give you an antibiotic daily? Dh is immunosuppressed and takes an antibiotic daily. Last thing you’d need is a secondary bacterial infection.

QueenPaws · 29/11/2020 17:50

@Fluffycloudland77 no, but I inject GCSF weekly
Text just came through with a negative result so I have something else grim ConfusedGrin

Allergictoironing · 29/11/2020 17:54

Yay! OK it's a pretty nasty infection whatever it is, but at least it isn't Covid.

Papergirl1968 · 29/11/2020 18:24

Glad to hear that, Queen, although you clearly have got some other nasty bug.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/11/2020 19:03

Thank heaven for that.

You ok @coastergirl?

coastergirl · 29/11/2020 19:29

@Fluffycloudland77 thank you for asking. I'm pretty fed up. Full of a cold. There's a positive covid case in my little boy's class so we are back in isolation for the fifth time, both boys dads are being utter dickheads, and this time last week was when Bertie became ill.

Queen I'm so glad your test was negative. Hope you feel better soon.

QueenPaws · 29/11/2020 20:58

Just found paws on the windowsill, bum blocking the window. So if I open it, he goes flying Grin
Tapped on the glass and went "PAWS! FORWARD"
Paws shuffles forward. I open window and he comes in backwards. Well trained now

Ollie is HmmHmmConfusedConfused at this

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/11/2020 21:02

You or paws?.

First weeks tough @coastergirl & life’s bad enough as it is.

coastergirl · 29/11/2020 21:08

@Fluffycloudland77 it makes me sad that you understand so well, but I appreciate it so much too. It's so hard.

I think @QueenPaws and Paws are equally well trained. Ollie must think you are both nuts, but it's beautiful!

Walter is cross tonight. He really wants to go out. He has been going out for a minute or so at a time, but I'm too scared to let him roam.

QueenPaws · 29/11/2020 21:10

Ollie also wants to go out, I think he was whining why can stinky paws go out and not me

Supersimkin2 · 29/11/2020 21:29

Good news - ish - @QueenPaws, you take it easy now and back to the basket till you feel human again. Feel a couple of furry cats instead Grin I take ABs daily, niiiice. My mate, a gentleman artist about town, swears by his 'in case I get pregnant'.

@coastergirl - kinell, sympathies. Only a fortnight to go and then it's almost Christmas. At least it should be a bit of a distraction from the grim you're battling so bravely.

coastergirl · 29/11/2020 21:37

@Supersimkin2 I hate to be all doom and gloom, but I'm dreading Christmas too. I always go to my parents. I'm a single mum and it's really bloody difficult with the boys on my own. The thing is though, my parents are older and fairly vulnerable. I work in a specialist school for children with autism and social distancing is just not possible with the kids I work with. 5yo in primary school and 17 month old in nursery. We're exposed to a lot of germs! Chances are I'll either be here with the boys and no other adults which will be awful, or completely on my own if the boys are with their dads. Either way, I just don't want to do it. Can covid just go away now please?

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/11/2020 21:53

That’s a tough situation to be in. It’s going to be a Christmas to forget for a lot of people.
