It is very unfair you lost him so young after putting so much effort into finding him in the summer when others might’ve given up you put so much effort into getting him back.

Bertie was not just a cat, he was a much loved family member and this is not something you are going to be over in a couple of days or weeks.
Work, kids and other pets are a distraction but only time really helps heal the pain.

Today has been slightly better. I still keep having moments when I suddenly remember, or something makes me think of him. It's been a busy day. I bought Walter a version of Da Bird (he's scared of it but the kids like it 🙄) and a harness and lead. Not sure how he's going to take to that. He's managing to sneak out but comes in quickly. I'm not letting him out when he asks. So I thought I might try walking him a la Leroy.

How are all of you and your felines? I've appreciated your support more than you can possibly know this week. Is it ok if we talk about something else now?

Leroy says it's not a good idea at the moment as it is manky out there and gets paws cold and wet. Which is my fault apparently 🤷🏼‍♀️.

That’s a nice thing to do, you can get a paw print memento off those. I have a paw print necklace. It gave me a lot of comfort in the early weeks.

@coastergirl, there’s a YouTube video by Catmandoo who is an animal trainer and all his cats are leash trained. They also skim board and skate board with aplomb. He shows you how to get them to do it. Some cats drop to the floor when you try and leash train them.

Mr C did that. Sat on arse in corridor mewing for neighbour to call RSPCA.

Oh Lordy good luck Queen. I've had a bit of a snuffle lately, & DSis had to take time off work with a really stinking cold that wasn't Covid, so there's plenty of other viruses about that aren't C19.

Cats are sulking. I found 3 bites on my chest, which could have come from either the very large Hungarian dog I was petting while my car MoT was being done, or from my indoor only kitties. So I tortured them by sneaking up on them when they were lying on my bed & doing a spot on, just in case.
