New boy cat arrives on Friday, a one-year old tabby boy currently under the moniker of "Bobby". I don't have a proper picture yet.

They look... fierce!

Ollie is upside down shrieking in delight. I'm singing a very bad made up song of "have you nom noms in your TUM-MY?" And kissing his belly

Very impressive when wrapped around my wrist... but he's actually very gentle, just likes to have a little chew!

Girlcat is asserting her power over me. Having happily been asleep on the cushion on a dining type chair sparko for ages, the moment I went to use the PC in the study she woke up, started crying at me and then dabbing my chair from behind desperate to get my attention.

Back in the living room, she sat just out of reach staring at me until I started to make movements like I was thinking of going to bed. Immediate reaction was for her to jump up on the cushion behind me for a snuggle. An hour and a half later, after my arm had gone dead from her lying half on it, she decided that she would let me up so I can finally go to bed.

Am I wrapped round her furry little paw? Of COURSE I am!

Went to a neighbours for a few drinks last night. Got home to reproachful looks from the bosses 😂😂

Bertie was not happy with me going to work yesterday morning.

It's all about appropriate boundaries.

And whipping the Dreamies out from your handbag when you have inadvertently fallen foul of the Commandments.

My great-aunts had a parrot in their vast house in Kent. He was left over from the War, orphaned - they were nurses in India, took him home under their nurse's cloak, tiny fluffy green baby. Adorable.

Within a year Parroty was the size of a bald eagle and moody with it. Ate everything. Had to stay in the house as was illegal immigrant until licence came through. It never did. The heating bills were past belief and they got accused of being unpatriotic as it was still austerity times and rationing, etc.

Great Aunts had to leave the house via the garage in case Parroty got annoyed with them taking time off petcare. He ate all the rations. Loved bacon and BBC World Service. Talked like Mr Cholmondley-Warner and shouted Crikey! if my aunt wore lipstick.

Both my aunts stayed single Parroty lived till he was 40, died of overeating. Let this be a lesson to us all...

Speaking of parrots, I once visited someone who had one. The parrot had perfected his imitation of the family dog barking. Strangely un-nerving.

Ewww. Why is that definitely weird?

An animal charity has announced that 'pet' is a demeaning term and your cat should be referred to as a 'companion'.

They didn't mention the more usual terms 'manager', 'boss' or 'furry Hitler'.
