Onwards and upwards for the denizens of the Litter Tray. Best of luck to all job-hunting, cat-mourning, Paws-swiping posters. I can't do a proper link to the old thread.

New boy cat arrives on Friday, a one-year old tabby boy currently under the moniker of "Bobby". I don't have a proper picture yet.

Er mama? Are litter trays no for rolling in? Good back scratches

😁 Bless him. Leroy looks like that after a poo. I swear to god that cat could dig for England.

ClientListQueen · 11/12/2019 07:34

He just clambered in the tray, lay down and started rolling
Ollie < big eyes > "mama? Mama? Make him STOP. What he doing? Oh lord"

YesItsMeIDontCare · 11/12/2019 08:17

Must be good for the itches. Leroy does it in dust piles when we're out. Which is really fucking embarrassing when the builders that have made the piles are stood there having a fag and a coffee.

Using a litter tray is a bit like using a toilet brush as a back scratcher... 🤢

Papergirl1968 · 11/12/2019 09:22

I’ve just left Socks at the vets for neutering. Poor baby kept climbing up me while the vet was checking her over 😿

Supersimkin2 · 11/12/2019 09:41

Good luck @Papergirl1968. Big day for you both, Matt will be well relieved :)

Litter tray dust = I gave up and got a Karcher for £50 in John Lewis. Builder's hoover, it's savage. Inhales the entire home, most satisfactory. The sweetness of Paws using the tray for the first time....

ClientListQueen · 11/12/2019 09:49

@Supersimkin2 he didn't actually use it. Just played in it, rolled about and then threw litter everywhere Grin

Supersimkin2 · 11/12/2019 09:58

It's a start.

Little K discovered toes in the night. Not his, mine.

Papergirl1968 · 11/12/2019 18:02

Socks is home with a fetching bald patch on her side. She hasn’t eaten at the vets but has eaten and had a couple of drinks since we got back.
Poor little girl. Thank goodness that’s over. Just got to pop back in ten days or so for stitches to be removed.

coastergirl · 11/12/2019 18:44

Hope Socks recovers well. My experience of neutering in both cats and rabbits is that despite it being a much bigger op, the girls recover much more quickly. I think they just get on with it.

I think I'm going to have to get Bertie to the vets tomorrow. I noticed a cut on his side last week but it seemed to be healing well. I've just noticed a red patch on his side! I'll have to wait until the kids go to bed to have a proper look and try to get a photo. No idea how I'll get him in a carrier. I can't just pick him up like I can with Walter.

Supersimkin2 · 11/12/2019 18:51

That is a great step forward Paper, badly bit will grow back all cute and fuzzy.

All the best with Bertie, Coaster. That doesn't sound like the most rewarding part of petcare Grin get the savlon in.

coastergirl · 11/12/2019 21:04

Ok so four year old in bed...followed an hour and a half later by almost six month old. Not a fan of solo parenting them both! Managed to get a couple of photos of Bertie, not great but the best I can get. Any thoughts?

I thought you meant put savlon on him but just realised you probably mean be when he inevitably scratches me 🙈

YesItsMeIDontCare · 11/12/2019 21:19

Yeah, I think that's a vet visit. Sorry coaster.

Supersimkin2 · 11/12/2019 22:14

Don't put savlon on a cat, it would kill them, some disinfectants fatal.

Yep, if that's a bite it's not getting better. Bad luck, lovey.

coastergirl · 11/12/2019 22:46

Nah I appreciate the advice. I don't even own savlon and it would never have occurred to me...I just thought that was what you meant for a minute.

I'll call in the morning and get an appointment. Tomorrow is going to be busy! Nursery settling in visit for the littlest, nativity for the biggest, vet for Bertie. Stress x 1000000000 for me!

Beaverlac · 11/12/2019 22:55

Looks very like my cat Thomas has had lately. Last year a nasty patch on his back that the vet thought could have been caused by him getting scraped going under a fence, and took 2 lots of antibiotics to clear. Recently he’s had another patch on his back, and a different vet said it looked like flea damage, except that he’s up to date with flea treatment. She decided against antibiotics this time, and it cleared up very slowly, but now 2 other little patches have started, so I don’t know if he’s been fighting (stays in at night), fleas, or scratches from a hedge. All on his back, shoulder area, so he can’t really reach them himself. I’m watching with interest to see how yours turns out.

Supersimkin2 · 12/12/2019 09:04

Coaster it would have been what a normal person meant Grin some of our little princes can be a touch spirited Grin You've got a day and a half today, but nativity will be lovely. Enjoy it and don't overdo it (ho ho).

Paper, how is Socks? Have we slumbered and eaten? That goes for you too.

I had Little K bouncing up and down on my chest last night. Wanted more tinkly feather. He still won't let me stroke him but in the night he settles on my feet. I think he's holding out for Shaky Packet this morning, he knows what the dreamies look like.

I have a smart lunch to go to and I ^reek* of dreamies and feliway. Grin

coastergirl · 12/12/2019 11:20

Quick question: most irresistible cat treats? Vets at 2 and I have no idea how I'm going to catch the bugger! At tesco now.

ClientListQueen · 12/12/2019 11:38

@coastergirl dreamies usually

coastergirl · 12/12/2019 11:54

Ta. That's what I got. I do normally get them so not sure they will be magic enough 🤞

ClientListQueen · 12/12/2019 12:16

Might push him out the window. Might not. Who knows
Hmm

Papergirl1968 · 12/12/2019 12:25

Socks slept well and has stuffed her face and is full of beans, Lana. She’s just run into the room, ran along the sofa and ambushed Matt. So much for the vet’s advice to keep her quiet! Enjoy your posh lunch Xmas Smile
Coaster try pieces of chicken or ham if Dreamies don’t do the trick.

coastergirl · 12/12/2019 14:54

Good news. Very says it's a superficial cut that he's just licked too much. Been given cream and instructions to go back for a collar if it doesn't settle.

Catching him was not fun, for either of us. He yelled at me all the way there and was shaking on the table, bless him. Now home with a shaved patch and hiding behind the sofa.

Papergirl1968 · 12/12/2019 17:18

Aww, it’s such an ordeal for them.
Good news indeed that it’s not too serious
