Come one, come all to the Olli et al. appreciation thread.

Mr C has started wheezing again. Give me strength.

On the upside, might see Nurse Lee tomorrow. Not in my skimpy lace nightie, Spart (good plan tho Grin).

Thank you all so so so much. Got 2.5 pills in last night thanks to your Ladies of the Litter Wisdom (book to follow).

Pill 1: copyright Long Rider

You will need:

Savlon
Wipes
Buck's fizz left over from Xmas

Skill level: beginner! [ed - insert medical warning here]

  1. Seize large, fat elderly pet, wrap in towel
  2. Retrieve spectacles from hall where stripy paw sent them
  3. Retrieve bath sheet, bath towel too small
  4. Urge pet to stop swearing as neighbours will call police
  5. Shut windows
  6. Find gap in jaw where pet missing tooth (lost in owner), insert pill.
  7. Crack open the fizz, reconsider calling the Samaritans for trauma.

Pill 2 copyright Mr C

  1. Eat pill with no sweet or treat at all while sitting on bath sheet.

With method 1 it's advised to hang in to jaws for some minutes after the (potentially) fake swallow if possible
They are crafty little sods when it comes to hiding pills in their cheeks to spit out at their leisure.
Watch closely once the patient has been released, particularly if they show signs of "casually" sticking their head under a sofa or behind a curtain...

It seems effective - I just don't know anyone who has used it.

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/02/2019 21:11

Method 2 is just showing off. He is toying with you in an evil genius way.

LanaorAna2 · 11/02/2019 21:34

Oh yes. Blofeld's cat scenario. Purring now. Naughty.

Carbimazole gel or liquid is 75 quid per tiny pot. Enough said. Odd, because it's an insanely cheap drug to make.

Someone donated a lifetime's collection of miniature scent bottles through the ages today. They were so sweet - everyone cracked open the fragrances of granny/childhood/first date. Retro sniffing fun

Then we had to evacuate at speed - they'd gone off and burnt a hole in the formica.

I think it's a job for Nurse Lee - to source. Grin

Phone message left, in best huskiest voice Grin

How did it go?

Asbo needs another dental. He saw the co-owner, Jaguar 4wd parked up front. It was mint.

She was lovely to him though so I can live with it. I bet her and the other owner get invited to all the new car launches locally.

Pet vet bet is in full swing now.

cozietoesie · 13/02/2019 18:26

Tomorrow morning, probably. (Considering all the labs he'll have to try.) Wink

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/02/2019 19:07

She did mention a blood test now you mention it. Which he will need GA for because asbo doesn’t do blood tests,

You are psychic.

LanaorAna2 · 13/02/2019 22:08

Nurse Lee says he can do me a prescription for a tenner and I can buy it online but it's still 75 quid for a bottle barely visible to the naked eye. he doesn't recommend the gel.

Oh dear, bad luck asbo. Little tinker! Is the tooth still in him or in DH.

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 13/02/2019 22:13

It must still be under patent if it’s that pricey.

Tooth still in asbo.

LanaorAna2 · 13/02/2019 22:21

Maybe the Jaguar is your Valentine's treat from asbo. Why? He is very fond of you and he knows it would annoy DH. Result.

Mr C's snoring is so awful the only gift that would induce me to continue our relationship would be the Duchess of Windsor's jewellery, all of it,or Versailles. Am in bed already. I am not moving to the sofa again.

If he won't take the pills what option do you have?

LanaorAna2 · 13/02/2019 22:54

Good news re the tooth, presumably it's on its way to fang heaven tomorrow.

Options:

  1. Prostitution
  2. Gambling (as above)
  3. Wrap cat in bath sheet - seriously, this is the last resort.

Hopefully next week, his food is being chopped up for every meal now.

LanaorAna2 · 14/02/2019 09:44

Good, that's not long to wait. DH can assist with chopping duty and parley garnish.

Only 14 hours this end to get two pills in.

Almost every room in our house has laminate flooring, except the stairs and landing and my bedroom which have carpet.
Matt was sick yesterday on the landing. And sick this morning in my bedroom. I'm guessing tomorrow he will choose a spot on the stairs...
He is very rarely sick. Apologies if anyone is eating, but there were bits of what looked like twigs in it so goodness knows what he has been eating.
It hasn't put him off his food though!

LanaorAna2 · 16/02/2019 22:12

Well that's typical. Glad he is back to peak cuddliness. Has he been eating twigs instead of grass?

Mr C is making noises like a creaking door, non-stop. Awful breathing.

Mr C [hugs] and Lana [Hugs]

Were they by chance bones Papergirl?

spinabifidamom · 17/02/2019 11:33

My cat loves a cheesy jacket potato. She also has tried jacket potato with baked beans and rice.

In other news we are currently trying to conceive. And sell our apartment. I’m partially bored of the area. We have been researching other areas to move to. It’s a convoluted process. Sigh. Not much interest in our apartment yet.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/02/2019 11:35

Are you getting his meds down him ok Lana?

Papergirl1968 · 17/02/2019 12:10

I don't know, Lana.
Definitely not bones, Spartacus.
Pleased to report he hasn't thrown up again!

LanaorAna2 · 17/02/2019 18:30

Yay.

The med situation is vey, vey, frightful. M&S tuna rejected, you get the idea. He just sashays off even tho I am literally holding the plate in one hand and his head in the other .

Had a screaming row when I lifted him up (forbidden) and tried to open his mouth (life sentence no parole).

Managed to sneak a couple into some steak mince just now. But he is getting thinner and weaker daily. Vet in 48.

Good luck tomorrow Fluffy
