The trouble with MrC is that there isn’t many foods he hasn’t tried. Unless you start buying foie gras from F&M, he’s literally eaten better than most people.

I'm run ragged trying to source new luxury foods to stuff pills into. Luckily London is a cosmopolitan spot, packed with fussy billionaires.

The vet told me specifically not to make a special trip to Burger King to get him a Whopper , and I have not, so as far as I'm concerned Mr C is not spoilt.

Asbo has pointedly left half a pouch of gourmet turkey. Nurse Lee was wrong when he said no cat starves on gourmet.

This morning I woke up to find a round, hard lump of poo on it, suspiciously where Matt had been lying...💩

The highlight of my morning has been snipping a dead slug from fluffy cat's tummy. It's an occasional hazard.

I don't think anyone wants the photographic evidence, but I have it anyway.

Dead, though.

Last week's slug was still alive.

Maybe it was the same slug with a successful death wish...

Previous slug was released into the back garden. The dead one was put into the compost bin.

It's always the same type of slug, small, black and about 1 inch long.

Mr C at vet. Refused ham last night.

Saw Nurse Lee and didn't fly into outrage. Didn't even run away theatrically or set up the usual terrible banshee howl to wake the dead. Just fixed him in the eye and did a weak little mew face. A silent mew came out.

Nurse Lee has taken charge.
