Come one, come all to the Olli et al. appreciation thread.

Mr C has started wheezing again. Give me strength.

On the upside, might see Nurse Lee tomorrow. Not in my skimpy lace nightie, Spart (good plan tho Grin).

We are trialling the new Lick-e-Liks flavours at the moment. Liver sausage and cat grass was deemed acceptable, but cheese and taurine was greeted with deep suspicion tonight.

LanaorAna2 · 10/02/2019 19:02

Is it actually called '...with cat grass?'

@gingethequeen you are the flame-furred monarch of my heart #liveinLondon #rotisserie #m&scatfood

Yep, liver sausage with cat grass.
I have jazzed up the cheese and taurine into a kind of sundae by adding Dreamies and cat salami " flakes" but he's still not convinced.

Weedsnseeds1 · 10/02/2019 20:53

As below

Weedsnseeds1 · 10/02/2019 20:55

Ginge is very... Solid looking Smile

Ollivander84 · 10/02/2019 20:55

I tried Ollie with that lick stuff. He looked at me like I had told him to go catch a mouse.

Stable cat nearly took my hand off because "you're not squeezing the tube FAST ENOUGH" Blush she would suck it out the tube Grin

Weedsnseeds1 · 10/02/2019 21:05

Ollivander , he loves Lick-e-Liks, particularly the chicken flavour. I've trained him to perform tricks using the stuff, but he's very dubious about any changes to his narrow range of approved foods.
Except before Christmas he decided Arden Grange ( his sole nutrition, pretty much, for 3 years) was no longer acceptable. I'm still trying to find the perfect replacement ( and mix 16kg of AG into it without being rumbled), but at least the weight loss has been reversed and he's chunked back up to normal again.

LanaorAna2 · 10/02/2019 21:17

Weeds your sundae is splendiferous.

Makes me feel like I neglect Mr C.

Sundae still rejected. The secret catnip stash behind the TV has been identified and recovered...

I'm at the end of my tether. Advice, please.

Four months of countless pills a day & Mr C has learned to spit every one out. Every one.

He's now ejecting his thyroid pills too, which he's always taken. These keep him alive. A month of this and he'll die - AIDS or not.

Two days now, 0 has gone in. The vet says there are no other ways to get meds into a cat. I don't believe this. Anyone else?

Ollivander84 · 10/02/2019 21:44

What about pill pockets or a pill popper?

LanaorAna2 · 10/02/2019 21:45

The cat from del Monte, he say No. Grin

With old girl, I used to wrap her into.a cat burrito in a towel, shove pill through side of mouth to back if throat and hang on to clamped shut jaws forgrim death with one hand while stroking throat with other until she swallowed.
Then hang on for as long as possible to try and make sure she didn't have it tucked in her cheek

Fluffycloudland77 · 10/02/2019 21:49

Chicken livers? Marmite

Allergictoironing · 10/02/2019 21:55

Exactly the same with mine. They seem to like the Liver sausage with cat grass even more (if that's possible) than the chicken or the fishy one, but when I tried them on the cheese with taurine one tonight they left nearly all of it on the saucer. I now have most of a pack of tubes sitting here until I can off load them onto someone else.

LanaorAna2 · 10/02/2019 22:11

Thanks.

I am half crying laughing, half sobbing with terror - the poor little sod has had so much shoved down his throat that he's now spitting like an AK47. A New Beginning is in order.

Marmite it is. I'll see if I can get those lik e lix tomorrow.

He's turned his furry bum on me in a grump. Won't come to bed.

I've ground up Brewer's Yeast tablets to dust and used them to coat slightly dampened tablets. That was acceptable to Me. Fussy.

Otherwise as previously suggested cat burrito in a towel and strong fingers! Also the ability to put up with the cold shoulder that you will undoubtedly receive.

Ollivander84 · 10/02/2019 22:13

Have you tried paste? Like salmon paste in the jar type stuff? Or maybe tuna pate, that's like cat crack. Or seriously strong cheese spread, it's good on crumpets if he doesn't take to it

Weedsnseeds1 · 10/02/2019 22:35

Sometimes you have to be a bit brutal to be kind Lana . I felt a right cow dosing up old girl, but it needed to be done.

Weedsnseeds1 · 10/02/2019 22:38

She loved her joint supplement though, they were deemed special treats!

Ollivander84 · 10/02/2019 23:05

@Weedsnseeds1 which one was it? Ollie is going mental for his Grin

Weedsnseeds1 · 10/02/2019 23:39

Seraquin, a friend was a rep for the manufacturer and used to give me tons of samples. It was a glucosamine supplement if I remember correctly.

Ollivander84 · 11/02/2019 07:28

@Weedsnseeds1 Grin that's the one I'm using. He LOVES it

YesItsMeIDontCare · 11/02/2019 07:37

Leroy's favourite Lick-e-Lix is the Liver-on-it's-own one, although the new Liver Sausage it's deemed acceptable, as is chicken. He also liked the Christmas edition Turkey with Cranberry.

Bloody good job he likes them as he now has to have Metacam every day.

Lana - will crushing the tablets and hiding them in something paste-y work? Or do they have to be taken whole?
