Come one, come all to the Olli et al. appreciation thread.

Mr C has started wheezing again. Give me strength.

On the upside, might see Nurse Lee tomorrow. Not in my skimpy lace nightie, Spart (good plan tho Grin).

I usually do ask a similar question to that at the end, always get "no no no you've answered everything well and clearly" or similar.

"Coming second" often does mean that, or in my case more often it means "we thought you would be taller/younger/slimmer/more attractive", or that they would prefer someone they can "mould" more than an old gimmer like me.

Papergirl1968 · 05/02/2019 19:07

Think positive!
Good luck and let us know.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/02/2019 20:04

Good luck Allergic, you’ve been treated shabbily there. Come over to the matched betting threads if you need some extra cash.

I’ve seen interviewees being shown around when I know Liz from the next pct was interviewed and will get it. Total waste of time. They should be able to just recruit internally and stop pissing about with peoples time.

LanaorAna2 · 05/02/2019 20:50

Is this the Pet Vet Betting Syndicate that is shortly to achieve world domination? Any chance of a link?

Mr C back from vet. Not great news. He's got full blown Aids.

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/02/2019 20:59

Oh shit, what’s the prognosis? I’m so sorry.

LanaorAna2 · 05/02/2019 21:28

He's all right for now. We're on more steroids which is a bit risky but good for his comfort. If this course doesn't work they're muttering about cancer.

I've told them to treat for maximum quality of life. Me and the vet both agree on this. Thank God. Mr C's happiness is paramount.

He is very happy at the moment, jumped up on worktop to steal.

Just done him a chicken breast.

Ollivander84 · 05/02/2019 22:04

Good for Mr C. I'm sure he will approve of the chicken Smile
Home from a shoot and Ollie is reclining on my lap

LanaorAna2 · 05/02/2019 22:35

How lovely.

The prognosis is what you think Fluffy. He has an unshakeable chest infection. The vet said 'it probably won't kill him but something will'.

He should have snuffed it years ago. He has broken all records as it is.

He is my beautiful spring kitten. I'm trying not to show how sad I am in case he picks up negative vibes.

You have the excuse now to spoil him even more (if that's possible), taking each day as it comes.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 06/02/2019 07:30

Sending love and nose boops to MrC, from me & Leroy. Is it possible to spoil him any more than you already do?

LanaorAna2 · 06/02/2019 09:09

Thanks so much to you and Leroy.

I never think Mr C is spoilt. He doesn't, that's for sure.

Got woken up at 3am by marching noises, up and down in front of the fridge, and screaming. He wanted steak mince, not chicken breast. Silly me. Accepted a cuddle. Rumbly purring. Wants Dreamies now.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 06/02/2019 09:13

Lana Flowers.

Enjoy spoiling the wonderful Mr C (although if he keeps eating at that rate he'll be Mr Creosote). Mind you - the steroids will be making him snack-ready.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 06/02/2019 10:35

I always remember a vet telling my mum that there's no point in having pets if you're not going to spoil them a little bit!

Leroy sends his sympathy to MrC, he knows how he feels. Leroy's not spoilt either. Apparently.

(Dreamies are the best filling for jacket potato, particularly if you ditch the potato.)

Ollivander84 · 06/02/2019 11:35

@YesItsMeIDontCare Ollie is horrified at the thought. Dreamies are "DISGUSTING MAMA" and jacket potato is "BEST fing EVA"
Which is helpful when you're trying to eat one. He's going to get a fork in his paw one day

YesItsMeIDontCare · 06/02/2019 11:46

@Ollivander84 They'd get on well - Leroy would happily give the potato to Ollie and shovel the Dreamies himself, and it sounds like Ollie would be happy with that set up too!

Leroy is a bit weird tbh, he doesn't really "do" hooman food. A small piece of warm chicken cut straight off the bone is acceptable, but nothing else. He has to sniff everything first though. Just in case it is actually a small piece of warm chicken cut straight off the bone 🙄.

Papergirl1968 · 06/02/2019 12:08

Oh, Lana, I'm sorry it wasn't better news.
Count every day as a bonus. He is clearly a fighter. Let's hope he keeps going for some time yet.
Hugs for you and Mr C.
Re food, I'm just about to start a separate thread about actual fish with heads and eyes in cat soup - with pic. You have been warned!

Allergictoironing · 06/02/2019 13:15

YesItsMeIDontCare Mine are the same, very little hooman food is edible. They both just turned their noses up at warm roast chicken off the bone, won't touch human salmon or cod, occasionally a teeny smidgen of lamb. Tinned tuna is good, but sardines are the food of the devil. But they DO seem partial to sliced cooked meat at the mo - they happily ate a slice of the cheapest chicken you can get from Asda after refusing the fresh roast pieces!

Papergirl1968 · 06/02/2019 20:06

How did the interview go, Allergic? assuming it was today? You said 10am but not what day...

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/02/2019 20:43

How is MrC Lana?

cozietoesie · 06/02/2019 20:44

.....I never think Mr C is spoilt. He doesn't, that's for sure......

He wouldn't. Grin

Ollivander84 · 06/02/2019 20:53

I have a howling cat again. He started at 6am this morning and I'm watching TV with subtitles as I can't hear it over the complaining. I had an hour where he slept and he's sat next to me screaming Confused
This will now go on all night, no wonder I'm tired....

Allergictoironing · 06/02/2019 21:02

Papergirl1968 went OK. Apparently they are having a really hard time choosing between the 3 candidates, so am going back on Friday for a few hours in the office there - at least that means I'm still under consideration.

I got the usual 3rd degree about my CV showing me doing high powered projects (true) and working at a higher level than this role (also true), but he was very happy with my explanation of getting to the stage of life where 50% pure admin would be a relief rather than bore me!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 06/02/2019 21:06

How are you and Mr C Lana?

LanaorAna2 · 06/02/2019 21:17

We're not at all bad under the circs,, thanks. Mr C isn't eating much. but thank God it's mild enough to leave windows open and get a nice blast of park air through his lungs without leaving the sofa. Nice.

Cozie I've completely abandoned any pretence of a civilised life where the pet knows its place.

Just to get him through the next month.
