Come one, come all to the Olli et al. appreciation thread.

Mr C has started wheezing again. Give me strength.

On the upside, might see Nurse Lee tomorrow. Not in my skimpy lace nightie, Spart (good plan tho Grin).

Dear me, I can't imagine those will have provided much moral support :) I was drowning in cat sick.

^Not just puke
M&S puke^

Mr C has deigned to eat a rolled turkey breast, stuffed with pancetta and leek, for breakfast, from the Luxury Range on yellow sticker.

You all kept me going, believe me.

Weezol · 23/04/2019 10:59

Leek? He's nothing if not a gourmet. Is he Jay Rayner trapped in a feline physique?

Weezolcat has expanded her palate. Usually the only hooman food accepted is ham and toona. Turns out that vanilla ice cream is acceptable if the weather is warm.

Not the £1.50 a litre stuff. No. Only Häagen Dazs will do.

YesQueen · 23/04/2019 11:03

No cheap ice cream here either Hmm

Papergirl - I'm so sorry. That is all sorts of fucked up. I hope that your DD gets the support she needs to keep her baby.

Supersimpkin · 23/04/2019 21:27

Yes that has to be the best ice-cream ad ever. Stuff those sexy 80s ones.

I am watching Line of Duty from the beginning and concluding that I may have early cognitive decline. It's impossible.

Papergirl1968 · 23/04/2019 21:53

Thank you, all.
Matt's supper is chicken reduced to 26p in Tesco. I bought three. Love those yellow stickers!

Weezol · 24/04/2019 04:57

An entire chicken for 26p???

Papergirl1968 · 24/04/2019 09:59

Sadly not. A small packet of cooked chicken, as in similar to cooked ham, that you'd have on a sandwich. But reduced from 79p so still a bargain!

Supersimpkin · 24/04/2019 18:05

Yay to Matt Treats on Special.

Mr C has thieved ham.

Weezol · 24/04/2019 19:48

Papergirl Still a bargain - I was having a rough night and my Yorkshire gland was triggered by t'promise of bargain chicken.

Hooray for Mr Ctheivery - was he rewarded for stealing ham with more ham?

I'm only doing cats today. I'm peopled out. Everyone I know is in the midst of an existential crisis or a break up.

Needless to say Weezolcat has slept through it all with occasional waking to tell me the rain is 'many loud' and to demand I turn the wind off.

Only exceptions to the wall to wall chaos are the Grandpawrents who are stuck on a fiddly expanse of sky on their current communal jigsaw, but have got the spuds planted so all is well.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/04/2019 20:33

You cannot beat home grown potatoes. Poor Weezol cat, the strain of rain, wind and being the only sane friend you have is obviously wearing her out.

Supersimpkin · 24/04/2019 20:34

Weezol that sounds like a fruitful day. Sometimes Other People's Problems are wearying, aren't they. Pfff. I know someone who has got addicted to crystal meth age 53 and has gone to live up a tree on Clapham Common. We are trying to get him down. It's a waste of time. 'sLife, innit.

Home made potatoes are delicious - I feel about them what Mr C feels about ham. I considered living in Ireland once for this reason.

Ollie is gumming a mayonnaise covered pizza crust after being towel dried
Living DA dream, he says

YesQueen · 24/04/2019 20:53

Also my dad came over tonight. He doesn't like cats. Gave Ollie a dreamie

Dad "why you only give him one? They're tiny! Give me the bag"

Ollie "you ma new favourite hooman" < gazes adoringly >

Allergictoironing · 24/04/2019 21:15

I'm being very much avoided tonight. It's that time of year - the dreaded cat MoT & vaccinations time. Usual method is take Girlcat, then about a week later Boycat, working on the theory that she may well remember what happened to him a week later but not vice versa. So didn't bother with the Zylkene in their food yet, as though she hates the MoT she's not so stressed by it as he is.

But somehow she worked out what was planned & made a dash for under the bed, so I grabbed Boycat instead (as arthritis prevents me from getting under said bed to get her). He spent the entire journey crying & open mouth panting, same on the way home, and fled upstairs the moment I let him back out of the carrier. He came down for supper, looked suspiciously at me, and slunk back upstairs. Wouldn't even eat the Dreamies on the floor!

Don't think I'll get my usual bed time cuddle tonight Sad

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/04/2019 21:23

No I don’t think you will, but it’s done and it was needed. It’s business as usual now.

Allergictoironing · 24/04/2019 21:41

Until next Thursday, when I have to go through it all again with Girlcat. She's (a little) less stressed by the whole thing, but much smarter than him so not as easy to catch unawares!

Supersimpkin · 24/04/2019 21:43

Act normal. He'll get over it quicker.

Supersimpkin · 24/04/2019 21:44

Yes DF 'doesn't like cats.' Grin

TheLongRider · 24/04/2019 22:02

Super Greetings from my Irish back garden. The cat is using the raised bed as a bed. Hmm

The raised bed has been planted with potatoes, early and maincrop. I'll keep you updated over the summer.

Oooh, just look at that. The Terror of Snakes is resting from the heroic labours, I see.

Crushed new potatoes with butter.... I'm doing anticipatory dribbling like Mr C.

In London the potatoes would be called 'smashed' and served with 'a handpatted beurre'.

cozietoesie · 25/04/2019 15:34

I think you might,Allergic.(Back to normality and all.)

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/04/2019 16:11

In our part of the country new potatoes are “crushed”. We have butter though, none of this beurre shenanigans.

I still order chips.

Papergirl1968 · 25/04/2019 18:50

It's Matt's fifth birthday. 🎂
He has been bought some nice food, Dreamies and a battery powered butterfly thing to chase.
Dd also saved him two of her McNuggets Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/04/2019 20:01

Now that’s love that is. Happy Birthday To Matt.
