What's your DCat up to today? (Thread 7!)

I wanted to reply to @EachandEveryone but thread number 6 is full! That cooling mat thing looks fab.

What is everyone's cat up to today?

Today I am 26 weeks pregnant and my cat Freya is communing with the baby. Mainly purring and gentle pawing in response to little kicks. I am hoping they'll be friends! Meanwhile Maisie is looking on disdainfully. She's in the huff because I tipped her out of the pregnancy dungarees, which she had commandeered as her personal nest.

What are your furry overlords all up to?

I've just discovered Susan Calman's Cat Of The Day on Twitter!

Do any of you follow it?

It's worth a look!

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 26/06/2020 15:22

Cat house can have unfortunate connotations, err... Unfortunately 😸

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 26/06/2020 15:47

OOOH!

IT'S TOO HOT.......

Typical of a cat to start using it’s shelter during a heatwave.

Both of those would make lovely additions to AnneKipanki's suggestion for a calendar, TheLongRider Grumpy

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts. Ernie certainly was a character (aren't all cats) and the house seems so very different without him. Yesterday was the first day I got up and would of let him in after waking Dad Dad up going out at 4am. He would always be waiting, almost cursing me for being so lax (in fairness there have bene a few lockdown lie ins recently)

It's seems so unreal you can got from chasing around the garden to being so unwell

One thing we have decided is that this time we wont wait to get another cat. Ernie cant be replaced but we need a cat in the house

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 27/06/2020 23:08

Lenny seems to have grown about a foot this evening Shock (he really isn't a long cat).

It was only after taking the photo that I spotted the strangely apposite headline on the front cover of The Economist.

TheLongRider · 27/06/2020 23:16

How's Poodley's tail growing back?

Lenny is indeed mimicking a draft excluder or a very expensive fur stole.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 27/06/2020 23:30

How's Poodley's tail growing back?

Very slowly - Isuspect he'll be Poodley for another 3 months or so.

Here's a photo from last week.

Raver I’m glad you aren’t messing around rescuing the next one I think I would be the same.

Well after many false starts I have the perfect cat sitter. £75 for the weekend she’s not cheap but I don’t begrudge they seem to love her and she’s had loads of jobs cancelled. Although she was surprised to encounter an extra cat this morning. I hope she doesn’t charge extra😄

Well I've looked at a few rescues and they don't have many at the moment

I think things have changed since we got Ernie due to Facebook banning animal sales. There used to be a 'cats and kittens in Oxfordshire' group and I was very resistant for a while but all the local rescues used it

Meanwhile we had a visitor this morning. He loves the Yeoww

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/06/2020 12:32

They’ll have some soon @Oldraver. Cats must go into rescues all the time.

You should set up an agency for reliable sitters @EachandEveryone, you’ve had some right sagas with yours there’s a gap for people who are actually reliable.

WheresThatCatGoneNow

That cat is just astonishing.

Is it real, or did someone have a go at him with the tippex? Grin

YetAnotherSpartacus · 28/06/2020 15:42

Flowers Oldraver - I have been really busy with work, but I have been thinking about you and the Mister even if I have not been posting. Ernie was an absolute character and a LT legend, but I totally agree that your loving arms can encompass another cat and I reckon Ernie would totally agree with this.

WheresThatCatGoneNow · 28/06/2020 20:38

After studying the picture closely, I reckon those eyebrows have been added onto the photo, using some clever photographic trickery!

Think it's called photoshop, or something like that Confused

EachandEveryone · 29/06/2020 10:13

I’ve just said goodbye to my sitter. So lovely but really struggling for work at the moment. I hope things pick up for her she’s so nice and caring. I would recommend her on my Facebook group but the person who runs it us so strict about businesses (her friends) coming from the area she keeps deleting my posts. What she doesn’t get is that a good pet sitter is hard to find as long as she covers our area that’s all that matters surely? If anyone needs one in Hertfordshire/N London let me know!🙂

Oldraver · 29/06/2020 11:09

Well I thought I had frightened Dexter with my nakedness as he ran off when he saw me

Nope he had a barely out the nest pigeon I had to rescue. He's now sniffing round the bush trying to find it

EachandEveryone · 01/07/2020 09:58

My sister is saying goodbye to her dog today and we are all devastated. He’s still running around after his ball. My nephew has known him all his life. He was the boy in the family after three girls
