What is everyone's cat up to today?

Today I am 26 weeks pregnant and my cat Freya is communing with the baby. Mainly purring and gentle pawing in response to little kicks. I am hoping they'll be friends! Meanwhile Maisie is looking on disdainfully. She's in the huff because I tipped her out of the pregnancy dungarees, which she had commandeered as her personal nest.

Ern is on his way to get an MRI

He has an enlarged kidney and though he is wee-big his blood results say his kidneys aren't working. They think he may have a blocked ureter

He did purr for me and took a few morsels off meat, but he is not himself at all

Hope the MRI goes ok Oldraver. Poor Ernie! Hope they can unblock it.

As for Dcats 1 & 2, DCat 1 is snoring loudly on the sofa. DCat 2 has just mugged me for the chicken off my dinner plate

Dexter is gorgeous, but how is our Ernie?

I'm afraid we had to make the decision that the kindest thing to do was to let our Ernie go

We took him the two hours to Bristol (vet college) for further tests as our vet couldn't stop his blood levels rising despite him being given fluids.

They did another scan which showed no blockage and as he was on anti-biotics as well they don't think he had an infection. Unfortunately they found he had heart issues and he went into heart failure. They could no longer treat his kidney failure as it was making his heart worse

They have said there is the possibility he may of had a tumour but think it more than likely chew as poisoned

Last Monday he was chasing Dexter around the garden then sharing chicken

We went to fetch him yesterday and was able to spend some time cuddling him but he wasn't with it. I did his favourite face rub where he would always cuddle/pull my hand in and he tried but his little paw couldn't manage it.

We bought him home and he now had a little spot next to his favourite bush and next to the catmint he always ignored. I think Dexter has been looking for him as he came in the house for the first time and was madly sniffing all over

It's likely the silly bugger ate lilies ( he loved eating grass shaped leaves, unless it had been bought especially for him

I am so sorry oldraver. Ernie came across as such a character on here that it must be such a loss for you all. It was the right decision, but that doesn't make it any easier
