Need urgent advice for a tiny kitten!

I've rescued a kitten who has been rejected by it's mum. It was one of two, Mum took the bigger one and never returned. Poor little thing was calling for her all yesterday and it broke my heart keeping my distance but today it started to go very quiet and shakey so I've taken it in. I know nothing about kittens no idea how old it is (fits easily into my hand, massive eyes and ears, very skinny wobbly legs that look a bit too long for its little body). I've given it tiny drops of milk from a syringe (sp?) prob takes 1ml at a time before it starts to refuse. What do I do (mostly regarding feeding but other advice would be much appreciated)? Live abroad so no shelters or rescue homes so I'm on my own with this one.

Nut how many kittens for the littler did you end up with?

SecretNutellaFix · 06/05/2012 20:56

She ended up with 7 in the first litter, 6 in ours and 6 in the last.

We had two- They were born on the guys birthday and we got them when they were 7 weeks old.

Oh I do hope Coco makes it to 7 weeks and beyond. I can't wait to see her be chubby and cute like a kitten is supposed to be and I can't get back to sleep after the night feeds pondering what colour collar she would suit best. I'm exhausted I tell you

19 offspring in as many weeks? Poor Helen!

Our cat came from Cats Protection. She was about 10 months old then, having been found in somebodys garden about to give birth. (See - they're doing it all over the place!) The kittens were rehomed by CP and they got Mia sorted.I had talked dh in to looking at a cat - we are both cat people and we went to look the first Saturday after Christmas. We'll just look I said, just look. Anyway we looked all round and dh met Mia's big green eyes and was totally sold on her straight away. So we met her and she was very friendly and the CP folks thought she woul be fine with young children. We reserved her and went back the next day with our girls. Instant hit all round and she came home a week later. She is as soft as a brush, very affectionate and a total joy.

Any news on Coco??

3littlebadgers · 07/05/2012 07:56

Good morning, Oh ladies it is not looking good. She has lost 20g since yesterday. I weighed and re-weighed just to make sure it wasn't our scales being tempremental. Also Still no poo and now when I rub to stimulate toilet activity the cloth comes away slightly tinged in what I am guessing is blood. It definately has a light red tinge to it but is not bright and it is not gushing from her. Sad The boys start school at midday so I need to see to them and then as soon as they are in By hell or high water I'm going to find a vet. I will be back later with any news. Fingers crossed and wish us Luck. I thank we need it. Thanks to you all for your continued support x

Fingers crossed. Wish there was something i could do.

Pinot · 07/05/2012 09:59

I think the blood may be from the worms? :( Or from being so drastically constipated - I imagine her insides are v v sore from all that faeces and tapeworm. I'm not at all surprised she has a bit of blood :(

She is a very poorly kitten, so a vet is definitely the best place for her.

JustFab · 07/05/2012 10:09

Poor Coco Sad.

Good luck finding a vet.

Fluffycloudland77 · 07/05/2012 10:39

Poor kitten. Good luck op. You've done a really kind thing anyway, some people would have just let her die.

ExitPursuedByABear · 07/05/2012 11:25

Checkig in to how Turkish Kitty is doing.

Hope you have managed to find a vet OP.
