Morning.

Just setting this up before the old one fills up.

For anyone new, this is a cafe where you can come, eat (calorie free) drink and be merry.

There are kittenbees in the café, which are kittens the size of bees, they are friendly but do nibble the pastries.

Outside are their larger 'cousins' the Bumblecats, they are not as friendly.

Leo is a Lemur who now runs the outdoor dog wash.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Outside is a water feature and a petting zoo.

Morning.

Garlicky rice soup you said? I think I can put that on the menu today. Florence is making rice cakes to go on the side and Fernando is making rice wine.

Leo thinks there is too much rice around so scrambled egg with spices will be on the side.

Evening all.

Mind if I drown my sorrows in rice wine? My lovely Ivy cat has non-specific liver problems 😥

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 05/12/2024 21:37

Oh sorry to hear that @MinnieMountain . Here's a rice wine

ScottBakula · 06/12/2024 06:39

@MinnieMountain oh i am sorry to hear that . I hope she is ok.

Its dry here for now but cold, I fancy cheese on toast this morning, does anyone want some?

sashh · 06/12/2024 07:46

Morning.

@MinnieMountain oh no. Drown as much as you want.

I'll just put a large pot of porridge on. Florence is baking croissants and Fernando is making spiced apple cocktails and Leo, who knows, last seen he was taking a bowl of water and eggs out to the bumblecats.

@ScottBakula cheese on toast sounds lovely - I know @sashh disapproves but I like mine with marmite 😁

ScottBakula · 06/12/2024 11:34

Ah but I am a lover of it so I will make us a couple rounds and we can go to the bottom of the garden to eat it . Leo is going to take us a couple of blankets and some apple spiced cocktails down there.

MinnieMountain · 06/12/2024 12:02

I’ll join you @Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket and @ScottBakula . I’ve never had cheese on toast with marmite. I feel I’ve missed out…

No you haven't.

@sashh Leo promised to wash everything we touched extra well.
I hope that's more than just the goats licking stuff

sashh · 07/12/2024 07:03

Morning.

Do I smell that foul brown stuff?

OK this morning I'm making Bovril on toast.

Florence is baking cup cakes and Fernando is making hot toddies.

Leo has a strange brown stain on his paws so I've sent him to look after the goats.

Morning.

I hope everyone is well and your garden furniture, trees and cars are all where they should be in this hooley.

The fire is built up, comfy chairs and blankets all around and lets have something warming so shakshuka fits the bill.

Florence is making cinnamon buns and Fernando warming some Baileys.

Leo is attempting to fly a kite, I don't think it is a good idea.

Morning

Settling down by the fire with shakshuka sounds very cosy.

sashh · 08/12/2024 08:20

@MinnieMountain I'm trying to make it as cosy as possible.

OP posts:
Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 08/12/2024 23:47

Hello 👋 shakshuka sounds lovely. I'm knackered but period pain is keeping me up so I might have a therapeutic baileys in a bit too.

sashh · 09/12/2024 06:58

Morning.

Well the wind has died down here but it is still cold so we need something warming so I'm doing something I make IRL, smoked haddock with rice cooked in a mix of water and orange juice.

Leo says it needs some eggs so he is making poached eggs. He has decided they are better cooked after sitting in a sieve for two mins. I'm just leaving it to him.

Florence is making sourdough and Fernando is making a hot black current drink.

@Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket I'm old enough to be beyond that but I'll pop a hot water bottle in a comfy chair.

ScottBakula · 09/12/2024 21:15

I was lucky enough not to have any damage caused by the winds but the end of my road had a impressive collection of wheelie bins .

I like haddock and rice , but cooked with orange? I'm not so sure
I think I will stick with the poached eggs.
I know this dark wet weather is to be expected at this time of the year but I am getting sick of it.
I work in windowless buildings so I only ever seem to see the dark

sashh · 10/12/2024 04:28

Morning.

@ScottBakula try it cooked with orange, I use 50/50 water and orange but you could try it with less.
Lets have a traditional Australian breakfast, steak and eggs.

Florence is making damper and Fernando is tasting some Aussi wines for us.

OP posts:
Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 10/12/2024 19:34

I'll have a glass of whatever Fernando recommends

ScottBakula · 10/12/2024 20:41

Steak and eggs sounds very good , can we get Fernando to make some Blobs with Yates Auzzie white wine , I haven't had one for ages but really fancy one

sashh · 11/12/2024 03:40

Morning.

I have no idea what 'blobs' are but Fernando can certainly make some.

OK lets head to Yorkshire for Yorkshire puddings with golden syrup.

Florence is making parkin.

OP posts:
ScottBakula · 11/12/2024 22:15

It's apparently a bit of a northern thing .
Australia white wine ( which isn't white due to the brandy added to it)
About equal parts wine and hot water, with a teaspoon of ( preferably soft brown) sugar a thick slice of lemon and a couple of cloves .

It makes a nice alternative to a traditional whisky hot toddy.
God knows why it's called a blob , but in my neck of the woods there were 3 ' blob shops' years ago .
They were fairly ordinary pubs but also had a big copper urn with the drink already warmed in it.
A couple of them and you felt like you had the readybrek kids glow all around you.

A thick slice of parkin would be a perfect accompaniment to it .

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 12/12/2024 08:37

The talk of hot blobs is making me nostalgic for Christmas shopping in Manchester and going to the blob shop.
It's a bit early to get that pissed, but I'll have one after work if Fernando is making them.

ScottBakula · 12/12/2024 08:54

@Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket , we could well of been in the same shop at the same time !

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 12/12/2024 09:09

I think I was last there in 1999 - good times! 😁
