Morning.

Just setting this up before the old one fills up.

For anyone new, this is a cafe where you can come, eat (calorie free) drink and be merry.

There are kittenbees in the café, which are kittens the size of bees, they are friendly but do nibble the pastries.

Outside are their larger 'cousins' the Bumblecats, they are not as friendly.

Leo is a Lemur who now runs the outdoor dog wash.

Florence is a French pastry chef, Fernando is a cocktail waiter.

Outside is a water feature and a petting zoo.

Hello all 👋
Sometimes just coffee is best! Mines an americano with a glug of full fat milk. How are you doing @sashh? Is Leo behaving himself?

PoopingAllTheWay · 08/09/2024 01:31

Fancy something sweet this morning
Whats on offer? :) 🍰🧁

ScottBakula · 08/09/2024 02:03

@PoopingAllTheWay , I have just got home , I have opened a pack of jaffa cakes and a pack of thatchers zero would you like some ?

PoopingAllTheWay · 08/09/2024 02:34

Jaffa cakes sound good

But are they a biscuit or a cake? That is the question for these wee hours

sashh · 08/09/2024 06:23

Morning.

They are cakes, so no VAT on them. There was a court case about it.

I'll get Florence to make orange and chocolate cakes and Fernando is making Cointreau cocktails.

Morning.

Well I currently have a friend spending 7 hours in Doha airport so I'm making Qatari breakfast.

Lubba, scrambled eggs with tomato, spicy minced lamb, chickpeas, pita and arab bread.

Florence is making balaleet and Fernando is sneaking brandy into Arabic coffee.

OP posts:
PoopingAllTheWay · 09/09/2024 02:28

Sounds yummy to me

ScottBakula · 09/09/2024 05:58

I hope your friend has a good book, 7 hrs is a long time to hang around .

I like the sound of the breakfast, can I have the scrambled eggs and spicy tomato please.

A Turkish coffee sans brandy tho I'm on my way to work .

sashh · 09/09/2024 07:22

He's on his flight now, currently over India, not that I'm stalking him on flight radar. He booked in to a lounge at the airport but the 'quiet room' was full.

Scrabbled eggs and tomato on its way, and a coffee.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 09/09/2024 08:12

Ooh yum! I'll have a bit of everything and join @ScottBakula in a non alcoholic coffee

sashh · 10/09/2024 02:14

Morning. Well my carer s now in Japan so that's where we will head today. I've got Leo a rice cooker so he has spent the night washing the rice.

Steamed rice, grilled salmon, pickles and a cucumber salad. Florence is making rice cakes for later and Fernando is making miso soup.

OP posts:
ScottBakula · 10/09/2024 05:37

Morning all,

@sashh I am glad he has landed safely .
Leo seems to think the rice should be 2 for the ducks one for the bowl so we may need some more.

Salmon and rice sounds healthy and nice .
Is there any sake available?

sashh · 10/09/2024 05:39

Of course there is sake, do you want it cold or warmed?

I think fish should be eaten more for breakfast. I love adding smoked salmon bits to scrambled egg.

OP posts:
ScottBakula · 10/09/2024 05:59

Warmed please, I could do with some central heating !

I never really think of fish for breakfast unles its kippers but Salmon for breakfast? Yes why not .

sashh · 10/09/2024 06:51

Kedgeree as well is a fishy start to the day. When I was in London I would get fresh bagels with salmon and cream cheese on a Sunday morning sometimes.

OP posts:
sashh · 11/09/2024 02:16

Morning.

I'm sticking with fish, I mentioned kedgeree and I realised we have not had that for a while so lets have that today.

Florence is making Danish pastries for people who don't want fish and Fernando is making apricot cocktails.

OP posts:
ScottBakula · 11/09/2024 05:53

Kedgeree, yes please .

Can Florence make some brownies , I fancy something sweet for elevenses.

sashh · 11/09/2024 06:15

No problem, Florence can make a batch in about 10 mins.

OP posts:
ScottBakula · 11/09/2024 06:39

Florence is amazing, it'd take me about 10 mins just to weigh the ingredients ⚖️

sashh · 12/09/2024 03:17

Morning.

Well today I feel we should leave Earth and have a Space Station breakfast, although on the ISS the food is thermostabilized, rehydratable, natural form or irradiated I'm not doing that. I'm also not planning a menu 5 months in advance.

Tortillas, granola, scrambled eggs, fresh apples and tinned fruit.

Coffee and tea.

Florence is making some cookies and Fernando is taking Leo to see the goats because you don't get much alcohol in Space.

Help yourself to liquid salt and pepper.

OP posts:
IhateHPSDeaneCnt · 12/09/2024 04:26

Hello!!I know I'm being ungrateful after your offer of ISS food but can I stick in an order of Dosa, Fruit Chaat, Pani Puri and a Japanese Bento Box, for later? Yup, I'm greedy but have to grab amazing opportunity. May I reimburse by feeding Kittenbees or doing some garden work? I would also like a spicy Margarita . . .

Stressedgiraffe · 12/09/2024 04:48

Hello can I join? I'd be happy with anything that is not a premierinn breakfast. Which is where I've been for the last 10 days ( minus weekends) for work. Still got another 10 days to go.

sashh · 12/09/2024 05:16

@IhateHPSDeaneCnt there may be a problem. IRL I can get an Indian breakfast delivered and you are making me hungry.

OK take a seat and I will get on it.

@Stressedgiraffe Of course, welcome.

OP posts:
IhateHPSDeaneCnt · 12/09/2024 06:07

Many thanks and from Space!!!! Even though not needed as a side, I'm hurriedly getting a Mooli, onion and green chilli salad smothered in fresh lime juice ready - with a little bit of salt - should I stick some Tamarind in?! Yup - and garnish with Coriander. Amazing I have all to hand! X

ScottBakula · 12/09/2024 06:13

Space breakfast, that's new ..can I have scrabbled eggs and tortillas.

The kitten bees seem to be enjoying the weightlessness they are doing acrobatics.
